I thought all no I will cry and cry but as I continued to read I found strength in these girls stories. I love the use of quotes and what they meant to the group of girls. I will definitely be looking for other books in this series as well as other reads by Ms Tronstad. Dec 30, Cynthia added it. Thought Provoking and well written perspective. It is book 2 of four. Spiritual Content- Luke 1: I wish I knew for sure what his motive is. But, then, all the ratings are lowered because of the Boyfriend thing. It does not mean I recommend all the books by this author.

Dec 11, Loraine rated it it was amazing Shelves: When I first started this book, I didn't think I was going to like it. It is written in an unusual format as Carly and her 3 friends in The Sisterhood of the Dropped Stitches all of whom became friends when going through chemo for cancer as teenagers but are now in their early 20's reveal their feelings throughout the story in a group journal.

But as the story developed and Carly became involved in the nativity play, I really liked the story line.

A young unknown playwright has developed a depression era version of the Nativity and Carly becomes an understudy for Mary. As she grows in her knowledge of Mary and Joseph, the growth and development as well as her understanding of herself and of Mary make for a very thought provoking story. He nods in the dark. That Joseph was some guy you know. It makes me feel good that Randy is learning from Joseph and I am learning from Mary.

I didn't think I'd want to read a book about young women who had survived cancer. The BIG C can be depressing. But not so in this book of honesty and triumph. With the advent of ereaders, it becomes possible to resurrect books that have disappeared from store shelves. I've read Janet Tronstad's Dry Creek romances and yes, this story is definitely her flavor of romance.

But I was enchanted by the first person narrative from the heroine and her friends. Chicklit may have died down but this author shows she can handle the subgenre with elegance and style. I loved her scrumptious hero and the beautiful but hesitant heroine.
