When she dies, Elizabeth is substitute for the bride. It starts like any medieval based romance. Forced marriage, love, etc but there is a mystery and it hooks you for the ride. It was fast-paced and interesting throughout. I did not like the front cover and almost didn't read it because of that, and the title The true meaning of the title is that there is to be a marriage of convenience for the sake of alliances.

I was really disappointed in this book in the beginning, it really was kind of your basic romance novel, man needs a wife, finds a wife, they don't love each other, but fall in love and will not tell each other.. But, the end really grabbed me and I was actually entrigued to find out what would happen next.

Those last pages I couldn't stop reading, then I didn't want it to be over. Damon good read Very good read it kept me interested through the whole book. I would have slapped down Anne many times though for her disrespectful ways toward Elizabeth.

I love how Ellen spoke up for herself. I wish I knew what became of Nicholas Capel but good read this is my second time reading this book and I love it evermore. I'd be willing to give the author another try i guess. There's just something super disappointing about a book that could have been awesome and wasn't.
