This book will restore your faith not only in humanity in general but to the Supreme Being and WHY's why we're all here. I used to be a very cynical people and a Fatalist view at that but after reading this book? My overall perspectives in this life completely changed thanks to Ms.
Eadie and what she went through. This book will give you hope and the reasons WHY bad things happen to good people and why our sufferings has actually have meaning and lessons associated with them. First, you MUST be kind. In order for you to be kind? This book WILL change your life I've read this book 6 times and This book helped ease the pain of loosing a loved one.
I've read this book several times and I can't say enough about it. The first time I read it twice. The next time I had lost my father, cousin, aunt, sister and my pet of 10 years all within 1 year, and the last time I lost my niece, aunt, cousin, my best friend of 30 years, and my other niece had cancer - all in 6 months. I'm not having a pity party I just wanted to explain why I read the book so many times - it really helped me with my struggle.
I was raised Catholic and the teachings about death never made sense to me. After I read this book the first time I said "Now that's the way I always thought it should be". If you're struggling - read the book - it will lessen your pain. It's not religious - it's just a good book. When this book first came out after reading it twice I always have to read twice to fully appreciate , I read the book within a few days and realized that many people I know could use this book almost as a self help type book and found it so inspirational that the following Christmas I purchased 5 of them to give as gifts.
And out in paper I ordered 10 more to handout as I saw fit and have to say most of the people I have it to also found it as inspiring As I did. Kindle Edition Verified Purchase. Great details about Betty's experiences in the the higher worlds of heaven, our true home. It gave me much hope and comfort that all of us will be going home after we finally shed our physical bodies.
Our lives on earth are incredibly short and are just a school to learn lessons that only can be learned while in a physical body on earth. And that heaven is real and is an unimaginable place of beauty, bliss, adventure and awe that words just can't describe. That we are all going there as soul - sinners, saints, drunks, bums, rich and powerful people, religious people, spiritual people, atheists, criminals, etc. There is no hell; no place of eternal damnation; what a relief! The best thing and really the only things that really matter here are that we love others unconditionally, kindness to others, and our good deeds as in helping others.

This book received some controversy back in the 80's or 90's. The story is that many who read it ended up preaching it's contents at church. Since this book is Betty's personal experience, it was never a good idea to preach it at church like it's doctrine - or even to personally endorse everything in it. This is an awesome book and I see it as food for thought or more data points in my research of what lies beyond this life. I would recommend reading it and just mulling over the info for your own personal gain. To preach it like it's new scripture is probably not the best idea.
That goes for any NDE book.
This is why most people who have had NDE's shy away from writing about it. It's personal and the general public will scrutinize it or wholly endorse it when they shouldn't. It's meant to just give us more data points in our search for knowledge. Some info may be spot on and other info may be meant symbolical and not real at all. Read this book with that in mind.
This study guide contains the following sections: Embraced by the Light is a story of a near death experience, and how it changed the life of the author, Betty J. In the hospital for a simple surgery, Ms. Eadie found herself floating above her body for reasons she did not fully understand until many years later and moving into a spiritual realm she had never dreamed could exist.
In this realm, Ms. Eadie learned many truths that she carried into her existence on Earth and continues to learn from. Embraced by the Light is a story of courage and spiritual enlightenment that goes beyond the mortal realm. The story begins, as Ms. Eadie entera the hospital in order to undergo a hysterectomy.
Eadie was waiting for sleep to claim her the first night in the hospital, she thought back on her childhood, and the one experience she had as a small child in a similar hospital in which she recalled nearly dying. During this time, Ms. Eadie recalled having been held in the arms of a bearded man. No one could recall a man like this after Ms. Eadie's childhood was a rocky one, as she also recalled on this night. Eadie's parents divorced when she was young, and she was sent to a Catholic boarding school that left Ms.
Eadie with many confusing opinions regarding God and religion. A result of this confusion caused Ms. Eadie to not be able to find a religion in which she felt comfortable attending services for each Sunday. Also as a result of her parents' rocky marriage, Ms. Eadie found herself marrying at a very young age. This marriage resulted in four children and an early divorce.
Within a year, Ms. Eadie married again, this time to an Air Force soldier. Eadie and her new husband had three more children, the later with whom they experienced a very rocky and uncertain pregnancy. This was the experience that led Ms. Eadie to her current circumstances. The result of so many pregnancies led Ms.
Eadie to require a hysterectomy. The surgery went well, though Ms. Eadie does not recall the hours after the procedure. Alone that night, Ms.
Eadie experienced a moment in which she began to feel very weak and was suddenly propelled out of her body. Eadie became conscious then of three monk-like men standing over her bed anxious to help her, all the while telling her that her death was premature. After a quick visit to her family, Ms. Eadie was propelled down a dark tunnel to a place where she came face to face with a man she believed to be Jesus. After speaking with Jesus for a long while, Ms. Eadie was taken on a tour of what she called a spirit world in which she learned many things about spirits and life after death.
Eadie also learned many rules by which spirits are governed while on earth and discovered truths about herself she might never have known. Eadie returned to her Earth body, she became very depressed by the weight and mortality of her body. Demons attempted to kill her in the first hours after her experience, but Ms.
Eadie was saved by a dome of light from the spirit world.
