There was zero chemistry between the main characters, and the "bad guys" in the book held no interest for me. There's a disclaimer at the beginning of the story that states that the plot is set in an alternate Rome, however it drove me a bit crazy that while the plot took place in ancient times, the author only uses modern language and culture there was a 50 Shades of Grey re If this book had been a 10 page short story, I would have been interesting, however it was extremely drawn out and slow.
There's a disclaimer at the beginning of the story that states that the plot is set in an alternate Rome, however it drove me a bit crazy that while the plot took place in ancient times, the author only uses modern language and culture there was a 50 Shades of Grey reference thrown in at the end which seemed completely unnecessary. Despite the fact that the book was slow throughout and could have been much better as a short story, the ending was rushed and I was left trying to click to the next page and realized it was the end of the story.
The main characters are left mostly unresolved and the story ended on the less then interesting secondary story line. I apologize for sounding harsh, I think the plot had a lot of potential but the story fell flat for me. I wouldn't recommend this book, Oct 19, Amy rated it it was amazing. I did find this a good Vampire Story, a little too much sex, or maybe it was the type. Whatever, I still enjoyed the characters, the plot was interesting and I will read more from this author. I loved the story and I can't wait to read the other books in the series.
Corrine is a very engaging author. One person found this helpful. Leaves you wanting more. The biggest disappointment is that there is not another book.
It is frustrating and I do not know how many more I will be willing to read because I want some type of resolution. In fact, the only reason I maybe be willing to continue is that the books are KU and therefore at least I will not be paying for a incomplete story. I liked that the men Cambrian and Modex were faithful to their women, despite temptations and visa versa. Also I liked possessive, protective and jealous alphas and both qualify.
The smex scenes were hot. It would have been a better story if it focused on the two couples as opposed to getting other characters thoughts and feelings.
It took away from the romance to keep including secondary characters conversations among each other. I really enjoyed this book, especially hearing more about pervious couples. I just hate how it leaves you hanging, on what happens to the couples. I would love to find out how both of them end.
I really enjoyed all her books, but all of them leave you hanging at the end. It would be nice if she could just have a complete book.
The set up to this book is a little long, but starts to get really good half way through. They are at war,an the Prince is crazy an sadistic.
The Vampire men don't want their own kind an the Prince has put a band on having sex with the humans. Lord Ross an cassia aren't allowed to have sex but the Prince has ordered him to keep her naked an on a leash. Keira is a hybrid but her body is more human.
