If I could give this beautiful manga a hundred stars I would!!!! This review is for the 10 volumes. I read all the volumes in one sitting, that's why i couldn't review one by one and each volume deserves a 5 star rating. I thought it would be the cliche shoujo world in which the main character is clumsy, happy-go lucky and loved by everyone for no reason at all with villains or envies just to add some drama.
It is about a girl who loves to cook, she was raised in an orphanage because her parents died when she was very little. She met a boy by the river when she was sad and crying over her parents' death, this boy gave her a flan to make her happy.
He told her something that touched her heart and made her look forward to fulfill her dreams but the only clue she had left from her "flan prince" was a spoon. Years later she gets accepted in a prestigious school, she longs to be there with the hopes of finding her prince since the spoon he gave her has the same emblem as the school's emblem. The story might sound simple but don't let the description fool you, this manga has so many twists, pleasant characters and leaves you with a warm feeling in your heart!
What I liked the most is that it doesn't force the main character on you like many mangas do I love Najika a lot, she's just that kind of girl I would love to meet one day. She's honest, bright, sincere but even if she's friendly and innocent, she stands up for herself. Akane is very lovely too, she looked like the villain at first and I was sad by her eating disorder problem.
She evolved wonderfully along with the story. She learned how to face her problems and feelings and to accept them and grow with them in a very mature way The two brothers, I was always trying to guess which one would be the flan prince or love choice for Najika but the story took a splendid twist that left me crying my heart out: The characters were human, they had true emotions and changed with the time by the circumstances.
I found myself crying many times and hoping, wishing the best for the characters. This manga made me so happy and sad but by the end I felt I was growing too. I have a more positive outlook in life and I see myself trying to fulfill my dreams too, working harder in College or at work, and I can see people are special in their own way.
Sometimes the simplest things can make you the happiest. Najika didn't need money or the best tools in the world in order to be the best chef, everything was in her heart She certainly made many people smile with her food and this is another thing I love from this manga. Food was used in a wonderful way to show how much you care for people. I love the recipes that were given by the end of each volume: D also, the conflicts were handled very well, not too dramatic or anything, just believable leaving always a warm feeling and something to learn.
You know the saying: I read the whole manga from the internet first but I also bought the manga because I want this precious jewel in my collection forever. If I get married and have kids one day, i would give them this manga to read. I'm 25 and I highly enjoyed it!
Kindle Edition Verified Purchase. I would recommend this to anyone who likes manga or who is even a new reader. I enjoyed it, though this, along with the other books I've been reading recently really make me think that I would never want to go to school in Japan.

I glad to finally be getting through it. I really enjoyed the story plot, it is interesting and the food looks delicious. I am glad that there are a few pages that tell you how to cook such recipes instructions that were included in the book by the author. I am looking forward to the next volume. I like actually having the book in my hands to read, but I also am reading it online as well. Oct 22, Ericka rated it really liked it Shelves: I wasn't expecting to like this as much as I did. It's like if Food Wars and Nisekoi had a baby. The pretty girl was predictably catty when her crush started paying attention to the MC, but I liked how the author addressed eating disorders and the pressure for models to be rail thin when she wrote the "resolution" to the conflict between Najika and Akane.
The food is really pretty and appetizing, and I love that you get recipes at the end. Mar 06, Paloma Rambana rated it it was amazing. As I read I realised that I thought I might have read it before. Return to Book Page. But Akane doing much better afterwards was perfect. And the characters are pretty relatable so that makes it an easy read as well. Learn more about Amazon Prime.

It was just the most amazingly adorable thing and yet, I had a lot of feelings along the way! If you take Revolutionary Girl Utena, Ouran High School Host Club, Imadoki and mix in a cooking show, that's probably a close approximation of the contents of the novel. The premise is cute and intriguing, but the plot and sub-plots are more intricate and involved than one might expect and easily draws the reade So I read all 10 books of this series in less than 24 hours, that should tell you something.
The premise is cute and intriguing, but the plot and sub-plots are more intricate and involved than one might expect and easily draws the reader in. I honestly had no idea who I was shipping along the way. Every character is unique and adds a particular element to the story. There is more to any craft than just the cut and dry directions.
It's all about the effort and feelings and just all the little things! I just absolutely loved it and would recommend it to just about anyone! Sep 20, Pamela rated it it was amazing Shelves: Such an optimistic book! I appreciate the authors' work.
The dialogues are cool and the drawings, wow. Manga artists never receive enough credit. I'm sure it took a lot of hard work and time to make the manga look like this but it just took me a couple hours of my time to read it. Nevertheless, this is a gem. A gemstone to be kept forever inside my heart and brain.
Jul 20, Pip rated it it was amazing Shelves: This book is so cute! Natsumi Ando, your art is wonderful! D I love the spine of this book for some reason Thought I'd just let you know that. The recipes in the back look gorgeous so I'm going to try and make them all during the summer hols! Can't wait for the next volume but I think I'm going to try and find the omnibus editions rather than the individual volumes.
