It must have taken a lot of courage to write this book. She gave a lot of information about Jehovah Witnesses, and how their religion works. As someone who is not a JW, I was shocked and appalled at some of their "practices ", and was happy for Lynita and that she was able to get free.
I was also happy for her, because she was able to get past her hurt and pain. She grew in more ways than one. That's always a good thing. One person found this helpful. Poor syntax, bad punctuation and spelling and not very interesting. I have family members who are Witnesses and thought this might be a bit interesting but I was wrong.
I can't believe the writer actually graduated from high school. Sorry, but if she would have had a professional editor, it would have read more intelligently. Reading stories of how people leave a cult and follow Christ are always fascinating.
The book didn't seem to be written very professionally and had many spelling errors. No apparent attempt to engage in proper copy-editing for spelling and grammar.
I'm very happy it was free. Appears to be more an attempt to witness to JWs to bring them "to Jesus" than a thoughtful description of her time as a JW. This book was very good read. A excellent source of knowledge for those of us that are on the outside looking in.
Lynita not only was freed from the bondage of the watchtower, in writing this book she released pain, hurt and fear that has held her captive for so very long. I am so glad Lynita knows the truth now and has freed her heart, soul and mind. So very proud of you. Story of a young woman's struggle against the hypocrisy she found in the Jehovah's Witnesses.
She was disfellowshipped for lesser offense than other youth committed. The rejection of her family members, including grandmother, caused her to reject all religion. Ultimately Bible study without Watchtower study aids brought her a saving relationship with Christ. The book was not as informative as I thought it would be. Grammar and spelling were bad.
