Staff was attentive to let us rebook another night at the same place after we came back and the door wouldn't open. Food is in general quite decent, some of it is even quite good. Not that we came for that, but the place is certainly kid friendly. The right place for a family or a group of friends: The breakfast is very good. We had a bungalow and it was a perfect match.

The pools were great. Small bungalows and high price. The contact with nature, cycling. The swimmer saver were always watching their phones The villas was nice, for the kids it was super fun to have animals and pool with waves. Common spaces don't have enough light. The facilities were great. We had little kids and couldn't walk back and forth so we had to drive every morning for breakfast.

The diving in the complex is messy. The roads are dusty and are not pleasant even for a stroll. That whole driving around the complex for every single thing pool, lounging, eating defeats the purpose of it being echo friendly. We were there for 6 nights and they only cleaned our unit once.

The cabin is simple, clean and nice but our view was the garbage bins of the next row of cabins. It is over developed. The pictures are shot at maybe spring time when the surrounding is green but we found the images not representative of the vibe of the place.

It is more like a dessert landscape. There are no comfortable chairs to sit on the porch, so in the heat your are confined to the interior of the cabin. Overall this didn't fit our vacation style and didn't provide the escape we wanted from the big city chaos. Too big, too crowded. The cabins are good and food is good. I have to admit we are most definitely not the target for Zmar, so my review will be biased toward my own preferences. We were expecting a bungalow and a nice time at the pool but a few things led us elsewhere: Although we have a daughter, we have an expectation of vacations of peace and quiet.

None of these exist here.

So many people in the same place are bound to generate qeues, runs for limited chairs by the pool as it opens, elbow fights at breakfast buffet Too "cosy" for us. Bags stayed the on the couch the whole trip because there was no other accessible place to have them. Not enough geckos and spiders for all of them. Humidity spots, not enough pots and pans All in all, it wasn't an unpleasant stay. And, as I mentioned, for people within Zmar's target this should not be the case. Breakfast is indeed very good.

The food is to expensive. Nice place to relax. Our little house was brand new and clean. This is a "big place", with a lot of people, if you're ok with that you'll be fine. It's a dusty, barren plain: Rather than have a smoking corner, smoking is actually allowed throughout the compound; very annoying. Cabins are very comfortable. I love Alentejo and I liked the place and the concept behind it. The new bar, at the top of the hill by the pool I am pregnant so it made it even worse. I sent it back and it came back the same Breakfast was really good. Onljne checkin is not worth the hassle since you have to wait in line like every jncluding who did not do inlune checkin.

Dinner is not worth half the value charged. There is a lot of dust frkm cars circulation. The concept is very interesting, but all cars should have reduced circulations in the complex.
