During her life, she suffered from vertigo, typhoid fever, mercury poisoning and possibly lupus. She died from a stroke on March 6, , at the age of 55, in Boston, two days after her father. Timeless tales from the famed author of "Little Women" notable for the spin on the Cinderella classic. Handy links were provided to access any of the stories in any order you choose tho two were reversed as clicking on "A Modern Cinderella" took you to "Nelly's Hospital" and the reverse. For what it is this is altogether otherwise a fine book.
Louisa May Alcott created some fascinating short stories here. Mostly romances, there is one memorable piece about a nurse's experience with two Civil War soldiers. I highly enjoy her phrasing and creative metaphors, and was pleased to remember how funny and touching and moving her vignettes can be.
Makes me want to revisit her novels again. We learn that LMA was interested in promoting the causes of her day. Recommended as a good read and as insight into 19th century history.
