The h is hired to put on a mega opening for a yacht the hero is introducing in honor of his father. The heroine is p-r-i-c-k-l-y, confrontational and downright rude at times as she pushes the hero away for his own good.
A car accident with a rotten to the core boyfriend destroyed her ability to have children and destroyed her ability to be happy, to be a real woman. Uphill battle and some serious work for the hero.
She is one female character that has it ingrained that being a woman is being able to produce biologically. She had wanted children desperately and is now denied. He killed a boy in the accident that damaged the heroine, and was killed off when he wrapped his car around a tree. The heroine is glad he's dead as he can't harm any more people specifically women. The H perseveres and there is a nice little epilogue with the problem solved in a very sweet way. This was really quite well done.
The reason for the four star rating is that the h ended up getting on my nerves. Frankly, I found her annoyingly irritating towards the end of the book. This was more like martyrdom than love for the Hero.
Mainly because an adoptee myself, it really annoyed me that this h didn't understand that love comes in many forms. You don't have to be biologically related to be good and loving parents. Fortunately the epilogue was enough to rescue this from a much poorer rating. The characters are absolutely stellar.
The plotline moves easily. The pain and the love are readily apparent throughout the book. I highly recommend this book. I really liked this book, it is one of my favorites by Helen Brooks.
