Went to avoid the crowds and ended up really liking the few people we met. This is very inspiring. I am constantly waiting for others to want to go to the places I want to go. And I have recently come to the realization that life is to short to wait. I want to see all parts of the world, even if it means traveling solo. Now, time to decide where I want to embark on my first journey by myself. Otres Beach was still cool and relaxing when I was there 1.
Plus I asked an owner there and he told me, it is not allowed to build anything permanent on the beach.
So that is why the tipi tents of that place so close to the ocean had a special feel to it. I was there early May and they had a small algae problem resulting in green beaches. And in the night, party, party, noise, noise. At our chosen restaurant we could barely hear each other. I think, Boracay is only still cool, if you can afford to spend USD and up per night, as you then do not end up in an overpriced hole.
I must admit, however, that I was there at the busiest Filipino travel weekend. Maybe just bad luck, who knows? You are so brave and adventurous! This is so inspiring! Me and my boyfriend are planning to make a nice long trip through Asia and we want to visit as many beautiful places as possible! We have a friend who moved to Thailand last year so we are definitely going there! Sounds like an awesome trip and Thailand is a great place to start. Emphasize soft skills you pick up from your travels. Because I get this question so much I wrote an ebook that handles every bit of planning and having an awesome trip. It focuses on solo female travelers but most of the advice in there is relevant for everyone. It should have everything you need in there! But seeing so much beautiful photos from travelers it has really interest me to travel — solo. After reading your post, it really made me want to go now! It is rare to see solo female traveler, I have been trying to find information on that before shooting off end of this year.

Once you get out there and start traveling, you quickly figure out how to haggle, how to detect scams, how to stay safe. Southeast Asia is a great place to start. Thanks for the sharing. Might try out some of the recomended places like Tonsai and Don Det next year. I only was able to spent 2 days in each country and see just a few of the highlights, but I captured footage with my drone along the way.

A rhythm I took with the sound of the Mekong River in the islands, staying with a local family. A little place of heaven on earth Then, I learnt how to be patient will all the motorbikes problems in the Bolovens and Thakhek loops but we've been rewarded by the nice landscapes and friendly people. After 3 weeks, my trip ended in Luang Prabang, north of Laos, in one of the most beautiful cities of SEA even if it became quite touristy.
In the month of April of , a bunch of friends went to the Borneo Island to complete their main mission, to conquer Mount Kinabalu 4, metres. They did it in two days. I've been to Indonesia many time in the past while travelling through Asia and I have always wanted to show people how I see Bali. Most of the time I hear travellers talking about Bali and its all negative. Too many beaches, too many drunk tourists, and too many eat pray lovers looking for spiritual awakening. I want to show them that at the heart of this place there is something that drew people here a long time ago.
Something more than beaches and bars. I'm no good at writing so I wont attempt to tell you what makes this place special, see for yourself. This wasn't just a holiday for me, it was more like going home. This was shot on my holiday yes my passion is also my job! Koh Yao Noi is one of the least developed islands in Thailand despite being right in the middle of the most touristic bay there. It's a little haven of real Thailand with just 18km of roads. We particularly liked the free diving sequences -- fancy wetsuits! Whether soaring over 2, pagodas at sunrise in Bagan, boating through Inle Lake's floating fishing villages, or simply interacting with the locals, you quickly realise Myanmar is a true gem. Armed with a couple of Canons and overpriced lenses, we shot this during our 9 day adventure in Myanmar. We've never met a kinder, more hospitable people in our lives.
Film by Chris Brosz. This is a personal project of my last trip to Vietnam. We travel for one month across Vietnam, from south to north, and spend about hours in buses, motorbikes and bycicles. The timelapses were made in: I believe they like many indigenous cultures represent a time and a world that demands respect for the natural environment, community and balanced spirituality. Theirs is a paradigm long forsaken by the modern trappings of big cities and belligerent profit margins.
Information is not always easy to obtain, but to my knowledge many areas within Mentawai have in , managed to deter the palm oil companies, whilst other villages are still in negotiations. Other villages still have relinquished traditional titles of the land, and have consequently been locked into development concessions that render the land in question 'State owned'. I went back because of all those perfect surfspots. Due to pretty much no swell during the two weeks I was there, I had lots of time to point my camera at everything else I like about this country.
Next to all the picture perfect moments we tourists experience in this country, there are the local people who make all this happen for us. I started to stroll through cities and tried to capture the daily grind of the locals. I appreciate that the local people showed me their world and let me experience Indonesia in a new way. On location in Phnom Pehn and the rural village of Anluk Leak, Roberto Serrini was able to explore the cinematic beauty of this land from the sky.
A truly amazing experience, as many of these children have never seen a working television, let alone a flying drone; the mixture of excitement, trepidation, and awesome wonder was a treat to see on their faces.
