The story is not as interesting as the last one but the read held my attention enough for me to finish and look forward to reading the next. Because there are so many characters to keep track of, I know that I need to read the next one sooner rather than later. May 11, Miriam Cortez rated it it was amazing.
I really love this book but also hate it not in a bad way but because of everything that happens. Muriel is hurt in is the process of some detective work from Shelby even after losing someone she loved.
The fact that Juan Luis was so close in hurting the women Cain loves the most, Emma but in the process he also hurt Merrick with a bullet to the head. Or the fact that Cain ended up in the hospital again after encountering another FBI agent on his high horse. Or even that Dallas's past comes knoc I really love this book but also hate it not in a bad way but because of everything that happens. Or even that Dallas's past comes knocking at her door to take her back to the place witch holds her worst nightmares or the fact that nothing that happens in the past three books comperes to what happens in this one book.
Its amazingly written but its just one of those books that cant help but fuel your hate toward the people who do the hurting you cant help but feel happy when there caught and showed not to mess with the Casey or Jatibon family heads or there wife's. But theirs also good in this book the fact that Emma is pregnant with Cain's third child, Merrick surviving the bullet wound and finding a women who will love her and be there for her even during her recovery, the fact that Dallas and Remi can finally start a life without a past holding them back from loving fiercely.
This book shows so much love and caring that you cant help but feel it yourself. And on with the fifth one. This series just gets better with the more I read.
A bit of adventure, a bit of humour and a lot of family, friendship and love. The author has a very fluid writing style. She involves you from the first word to the last. Many would say this book was good verses evil. But it sure makes you question which is which. Excellent book, excellent storyline and excellent characters. I'm off to read number five.
Jan 14, Suzy Q rated it it was amazing. I have been reading Ali Vali Caine Casey series and loving them. I think this one might be my favorite book yet. It is so action packed and you are meeting lots of new characters. I just love it when Emmy calls Caine mobster Keep em coming Ali. No where near as good as the last 3.
This one was only ok to me. I was pretty disappointed. I've loved the series up until this book. I'm considering not continuing the series because of my feelings about this one. However, curiosity will likely get the better of me. Jul 26, F. This is the one that weaned me off the series for good May 04, Warmus rated it really liked it Shelves: I like how Vali interweaves the title with Cain's philosophies about the devil. The scene in Talbot's office proves that Emma is a devoted partner and enhances Cain. Even though this book is a solid continuation of the series, it fizzled out compared to the previous ones.
The most entertaining parts of this story were Brent's heavy-handed actions towards Cain and Emma protection of Cain while she was in the hospital.
I was tempted to skip the plot involving Dallas and Remi because it felt as if I like how Vali interweaves the title with Cain's philosophies about the devil. I was tempted to skip the plot involving Dallas and Remi because it felt as if their story took away from the Casey Clan. Instead of Dallas and Remi, it would have been nice to read more about Muriel either with Shelby or with someone else. Muriel had a lot of character in The Devil Inside , but she too seemed to loose that sharp wit she possessed at the warehouse in the first book.
I haven't mentioned in my previous reviews that the sex scenes feel incomplete.
Heart of the Devil. The striking landscape featured in both The Shooting and Ride in the Whirlwind no longer exists, having at least according to Wikipedia been filled in with an artificial lake. But today was not the case rather I focused more on Muriel than anyone else. Chi ama i libri sceglie Kobo e inMondadori. Lists with This Book.
The scenes have great build ups and climaxes, but they end abruptly. No fade to black, just Hopefully, this book is the calm before the storm that's to be released in The Devil's Orchard. Oct 20, R. Honestly, Ali Vali never fails to amaze me. But today was not the case rather I focused more on Muriel than anyone else.
She's really starting to grow on me and I feel like I can really sympathize with her. She just has her head every I've been putting off reading this book and today, after finding out my book was due, I quickly read through it in a hurry starting from five and ending at eight. She just has her head everywhere, but she quickly redeems herself. I find myself hating Shelby after every book.
