Netflix has toyed with intro-skipping before. It used to start episodes automatically once the opening titles were finished, but the lack of choice irritated some. Now, though, you need only hit a button and — bang — the whole thing blows up, never to be seen again. In an ideal world, all title sequences would be as short as the one for The Good Place , which is just a momentary white-on-green screen.
A sequence like that proves that the show is desperate to tell you as much story as it can before time runs out. Its unknown creator should step forward immediately, so we can all throw flowers at them.
At least he didn't sound too happy about it when it was discovered. I was the dude in Baertaffy's chat suggesting that he tried breaking the Moai head with the ball n' chain! D He reads my message a few seconds before the cut in this video.
It wasn't completely accidental, we had an inkling that something like that could happen. That was sort of my reasoning for putting it at number Was still a pretty funny discovery that was partly by accident: Looks like these are streamed accidental discoveries only - do you have any honorable mentions that weren't streamed? I mean it would have to be a live recording that's uneditted. Otherwise how do I know they found it by accident and didn't just rerecord or record over them with a reaction? Livestreams are the best way to know for sure. I'm more talking about stuff that totally random players found and speedrunners were like "Huh, that's useful".
The guy that found PC Kiln Skip was just a casual player, for example. Then again that seems like an entirely different concept and it might be harder to make a good video about that. Nice job with this one, by the way! Great example of this is the discovery of infinite sword glitch. Literally just some random dude on Youtube uploaded this without knowing anything about speedrunning or the OoT glitching community. Of course, it was so the community was quite small.
This was also the single biggest glitch anyone had seen at the time, so it revitalized a lot of discoveries and pushed a lot of wacky routes that were previously impossible. This makes me wonder how many glitches have been discovered by casual gamers that the speedrunners still do not know about to this day To piggyback on what that other user is saying.
I think you could work it into maybe a "Top 10 Glitch Hunters" video.
Truscott says that his research has applications that extend beyond a trip to the beach. Wonder what he's doing nowadays. I vaguely remember reading something about some drama where the OoT TAS community withheld strategies from the speedrunning community so that they could surprise people with them in their runs. Those guys are the unsung heroes of speedrunning. Also I dig this type of content. I just subbed, watched and liked all of your Top 10 videos. Firesage skip was from a casual player too, he just died by randomly falling through the floor but speedrunners realized how much time could be saved through that. I don't remember the exact numbers but it saved at least minutes in a very optimized run. Well with that logic you could still stream yourself "stumbling upon" the glitch even if you knew it prior, I don't think too many people are trying to fake it.
Well it also just happened that majority of the documented moments like these were also livestreamed. I don't think anyone is trying to fake these, I was just saying it would be more likely. If you made a second edition of this and wanted to also include accidental discoveries not found on stream, I would highly recommend this: If you need more info about it, let me know.
