It makes it difficult to believe the moment when they supposedly snap out of it, like here, when view spoiler [Shizuka magically got over her murderous rage.
In no way does it prove that Arisa was the King who got Shizuka bullied and injured. I can easily imagine a scenario where someone close to Arisa logged in under her name and had that convo with K. It's likely that Rei spoke to Midori thinking he was Arisa.
The flashback to Arisa and Tsubasa's childhood just proved that Tsubasa has never really taken the time to think things through. She somehow thought that yen which currently works out to about 44 USD would be more than enough for her and her sister to have fun for a day and then get themselves a hotel room for the night.
Granted, she was a kid and probably had no idea how much things cost, but still. Even back then, Arisa was the one who took care of things when her sister's plans didn't pan out. That doesn't bode well for the rest of the series. Mar 01, Sarah rated it really liked it. The Plot and the Thoughts Ugh, god I'm really starting to think that captain obvious is the King. I believe I mentioned him a few reviews back.
Well because all of the current suspects haven't been around so how the hell could they be the King? Hoping that I'm wrong though Tsubasa randomly okay, maybe not randomly kidnaps Shizuka to take her to a BBQ party with herself and her friends. Shizuka is initially really happy because all these 4 Stars for Arisa volume 6! Shizuka is initially really happy because all these people want to be her friend.
But Shizuka quickly starts to question their motives and leaves the party. Tsubasa attempts to convince Shizuka that everyone really does just want to be her friend but Shizuka won't listen. In her attempt to get away Shizuka nearly wheels herself over a cliff, but Tsubasa saves her, sacrificing herself more or less.
Shizuka fears that she may have gotten Tsubasa killed and quickly goes for help. Shizuka continues to be an unreasonable girl when the King sends her a clip of Tsubasa changing into her wig so the King knows that Arisa is still out of the picture and is enraged again.
As a result, she makes another wish to the King and The King complies, making an ambulance crash into Manabe. Shizuka FINALLY realizes that the King was never on her side because the King hurt Manabe, who made her a promise long ago to be always on his side which is why he started acting like he had multiple personalities because his alliance with Tsubasa had to be annulled in order to continue being what Shizuka wanted him to be, her servant well, that's how I felt about it.
Shizuka tells Tsubasa to go to a particular website in order to figure out Arisa's secret.
I'm guessing Arisa was a regular Internet Cookies purger if Tsubasa and Manabe couldn't figure out the internet site thing. Auto-fill, website history, quick links drop down menu anyone? Considering that Arisa was the original King puppet I know the series keeps saying that she was the original King, but come on.
Someone was obviously pulling her strings cause from what I gathered so far, she isn't the type of girl that would want to turn it into a cult-like thing that it is now. He would be the most obvious and natural choice for Arisa to talk to Everyone has a wish. I'm guessing though and only the next 4 volumes will truly tell me if my hunch is really, so onwards and forward! Jan 25, Judy Geeky Reading rated it liked it Shelves: Something to stop these constant, meaningless problems that keep coming up.
Almost all of this volumes focuses on the problems surrounding Shizuka. Tsubasa tries to make Shizuka happy and not focused on her revenge with Arisa. It doesn't really work, except that Tsubasa ends up getting hurt and Shizuka walks in order to get help. Although, I didn't really see the meaning in her walking? I guess it was supposed to be momentous and whatever, but I just found it dumb, when she could have, much easier, used her wheelchair instead.
It kind of makes a difference, as Shizuka is going to give the phones back, but instead the King sends her a message and changes her mind. And then Shizuka messes up the house and attacks her guardian. It pretty much brings everything back to how it was in the volume before this. Shizuka is psychotic again and wishes Arisa out of this world. Manabe takes her phone, and Shizuka then finds out that Arisa is actually in a coma. Manabe then 'officially' teams up with Tsubasa to find the King again, even though I don't think he really turned against her since a few volumes ago two, maybe?
But then the King decides to grant someone else's wish, where the person with the cellphones gets taken out. Shizuka freaks out, Manabe takes them, in order to throw them away I think, but ends up getting hit by a car instead. Shizuka, who feels terrible and is emotionally unstable, decides to move away. Tsubasa is upset, but I am glad. Before she leaves, Shizuka gives Tsubasa a URL, the supposed secret that she knows about Arisa, which leads her to a chat room.
Her and Manabe hack into it, and discover some chats between Arisa and the King, and it reveals how it all started. It's been inactive for a while, but when Tsubasa sends a message, the King responds. Also, I'm pretty sure that it's revealed in this volume that the King is Kudo? At the end of the volume, there's an extra chapter. It's about Arisa and Tsubasa and how they reacted to their parents splitting up. Tsubasa reacts badly, while Arisa accepts it, but they're both hurt. They have a fight, and then make up and decide to send letters to each other everyday.
I'm hoping that, in the next volume, some more big things are revealed and the plot move forward some more. A lot would be nice, but I don't really believe it's going to. That's pretty much all I'm hoping for, actually. The series is just alright at this point, and I want it to get better, to move along already. Aug 19, Jamie rated it really liked it Shelves: Tsubasa kidnaps Shizuka and takes her to a BBQ party with her and her friends. When Shizuka wakes up, she is really happy because all these people wanted to be her friend. Everyone was trying to help Shizuka become involved and they were teaching other how to do certain things.
Everything was okay until Shizuka started questioning their intentions.
She didn't want them to pity her and this enraged her. She wheels herself away and Tsubasa goes after Shizuka to try to stop her.
Tsubasa attempts to confront her but Shizuka refused to listen. As Shizuka wheels backwards, she is about to fall off the cliff but Tsubasa pulls Shizuka back in time. However, Tsubasa falls down the cliff and becomes unconscious. Shizuka was frightened and terrified that she might have killed Tsubasa attempts to walk for the first time back to all of her friends in order to get help.
When the boys helped Tsubasa come back, Shizuka is crying and explains that she was scared that Tsubasa might have died on her account. Tsubasa was able to touch Shizuka's heart and change her mind about getting revenge on Arisa. Shizuka thought that she was trying to get played again and she asked for the KING to hurt someone. The next day, Tsubasa decides to go visit Shizuka and finds that she is about to leave to go to an orphanage.
Tsubasa takes Shizuka away and Shizuka told Tsubasa to go to a website in order to figure out Arisa's secret. When Tsubasa and Manabe log onto the website, they find the conversation Arisa has with the person labeled "k". As they read the conversations, they realize that "k" came up with all the rules and the ideas for how KING time would work. Tsubasa grabs the laptop and tries to start a new conversation. As they wait for a reply, "k" logs in and types "Arisa? I thought that Arisa was this happy girl who led a normal life because this was all that Tsubasa new about her twin sister.
Apr 20, Mike rated it it was amazing Shelves: Arisa is a multiple layered story with mystery elements. I highly recommend starting at the beginning and reading in order. To complicate matters Tsubasa is becoming friends with Shizuka as herself while having to face the girl's wrath when posing as Arisa. The King isn't letting up, but Arisa is a multiple layered story with mystery elements. The King isn't letting up, but neither is Tsubasa. Shizuka is a well developed character and her background nuanced and layered, and all of the threads from last volume continue here.
The larger mystery unfolding slowly, but the added depth to the characters and the increasingly escalating stakes and tension are worth it. There are some really nice developments here to be explored in the future. The "main" plot is shorter starting this volume. The side story is well done, relevant and adds character depth, but I feel like it could have been integrated into the manga in pieces instead of separated out and breaking up the flow a bit.
This is a small complaint and hasn't affected my rating at all, but it's worth mentioning that the portion per volume devoted to the overarching plot has been reduced by a quarter. Overall another great, dramatic volume. Feb 13, Miss rated it liked it. I know Tsubasa could bring Shizuka back! Three cheers for friendship everybody! On the subject of the Arisa revelations this volume: I have faith, sisters forever, if Tsubasa believes she couldn't have been the horrible person Shizuka thinks she was I am riding that train with her.
Who could possibly think otherwise after that side story? Adorable connected sisters, you can't tell me Arisa could have turned cruel without Tsabasa noticing. Man, I was super invested in the redemption o Yesssssssss. Man, I was super invested in the redemption of Shizuka this volume. Do you know how upset I was when it seemed like King was going to succeed in turning her away from from Tsubasa?
I shut the book so I could have a couple minutes to yell about how he is such a life ruiner, ugh, why won't you leave already douchebag. Also Ando is mean with her cliffhangers. I need to know what's up with that chat room y'all. I need to know right now. Well I have to say that this king is. It's gonna have that spin. It's gonna have that spin where one of the very main characters will be the King and everything will get messed up and it will literally tear out your soul. This is a great series!
Arisa is full of mysteries and questions and cliffhangers. Now if this was made into an anime, can you just already imagine that creepy music, huh?? Apr 27, Luna rated it liked it Shelves: However I will say now that the story does lag a bit after a few volumes and loses something of the great set up it had at the beginning.
