We broke up over about a three month period which was my first taste of a broken heart even though I was the one who felt like a LTR was just too much stress.
I dated through college, got engaged when I was 24 and in grad school, found out he cheated and broke it off. Almost immediately he apologizes in a Facebook message to tell me he thought he was friending someone from work whose name is only one letter different from mine. We had wonderful conversations. Here we were, both grown up, but we clicked amazingly.
The whole thing had this inevitable feeling like the time between my freshman year of college and that coffee date was just some long aside. I have no answer for it. She was pretty, very pretty, and while I used to admire her from afar like one would a statue I was in a relationship with someone else and very much in love at the time.

Flash forward six months and my girlfriend had decided she wanted a live without me and broke it off. It took me three weeks after the breakup but I finally worked up the nerve to speak to this coffee house girl. Susie and I did everything together during those summer vacations. We almost always stayed at the same state park and so by year three we remembered every place to go play together.
I learned to swim from her. I taught her to ride a bike which her dad was annoyed by at the time. I also felt that there should have been more scenes of Savannah training Nia to use her abilities. As the book progresses these mistakes become very few and, are not very obvious. The book definitely needs to undergo another round of editing and, I hope that the next book of the series doesn't have any of the shortcoming present in this book.
This gets a three star mainly due to the mystery side of the story. I loved how we were revealed small parts at a time; it certainly kept my mind guessing at the possibilities. Firstly, I really liked Nia as a main character. She was strong when she needed to be but had a softer side that made me want to like her. Nia was just the right balance. My This gets a three star mainly due to the mystery side of the story.
My only concern was the dreaded insta-love curse. It hit pretty hard in this one, but for some reason, and I fail every fellow Goodreads member on here by saying this, I didn't care that much. I can't believe it either. I managed to look past it! Yeah, it was annoying and I rolled my eyes a few times, but for the most part I enjoyed reading about Nia and Aaron's romance. My only issues - Aaron was bit too heavy at first, can you say creepy stalker much?
BUT, it wasn't as bad as some other stories that I have read. It was probably the "fated" storyline that made me appreciate the love. It had a purpose and therefore I understood the necessity of it. However, I was intrigued from the start - if we weren't falling in love with Aaron, we were travelling through the paranormal world, imersing overselves in the mystery and meeting even more mysterious strangers. The paranormal side of the story didn't fail me and I really enjoyed how Varadeaux revealed small parts, bit by bit, to keep you on the edge.
I loved the interwoven storylines between the other characters, the history that was involved in the story and the general paranormal element of the plot. The ending didn't disappoint either. Basically, if you love paranormal mystery, romance and adventure, then I would definitely give this a go. I received a free copy of this book, from the author, in exchange for an honest review. Are you kidding me?
You can't leave it at that! I need book 2 right now! Oh my God, it's gonna be a very loooong wait I suppose The story was good, very good, even though there were some scenes a little too sugary where the love birds were concerned. I mean, so sugary I wanted to either go and wash my teeth or get a shot of insulin.
Especially in the be I received this book in exchange for an honest review Lovers of Paranormal What?!?! Especially in the beginning when Nia and Aaron barely knew each other.
I wanted to gag some times. And it took me a while to warm up to them. I just didn't feel the love right away as they did for each other.

I started to feel their emotion and passion about halfway through the story. What was I saying? Oh yes, the story was good and intriguing. One thing remained a mystery though: This is gonna kill me and blow my mind until next book when we will maybe learn more. How about the characters?
I must say, Aaron and Nia weren't my favorite characters. Not that I didn't like them. They were nice and didn't bother me. Except for when they were too sweet and sugary or when I wanted to slap Nia for being silly a couple times. So, they were good characters, but I didn't feel that special thing for them. I totally loved Eric aka Rian instead! And I'm not ashamed to say I now have a little crush on him. Don't tell Avery though!
I also liked Savannah a lot. I was skeptical and didn't trust her when she first arrived, but then I warmed up to her in a very short time! Rhea was an amazing friend to Nia and I liked her. I can't say much more. Sorry, I'm still in a daze. And also thinking about Eric And I can't wait for book 2 "True Chaos"! The awesome writing of the author grabbed my attention from the very first and kept me hooked in. The descriptions are so vividly portrayed that it will lure you in to the story and will make you a part of it.
Talking about the characters I would just say that I loved Nia the most, she was a little confused at first, well I guess when your world is falling apart you get the right to be weak even if you are the heroine in here. I liked the plot planning and the way the events smoothly unfolded was really nice, it felt as if one event led to another automatically. The suspense was well kept and I couldn't predict the big bad secret even at the moment just before the revelation of this secret and it gave me chills and thrills too. I would highly recommend this book to others and I know that you guys are going to devour it and who can resist the gorgeous cover, eh?

Jan 22, Maria Dodd rated it it was amazing Shelves: I was given this book by the author Shayna Varadeaux, via Lovers of Paranormal, in exchange for an honest review. Nia knew that odd things happened to her and that she was 'different' and this story follows her discovery of how she is different and the people that help her on her discovery. Not until the very last word do we find out just how different Nia and Aaron are. Nia and her relationship with her friend Rhea is very strong and believable.
I loved this book. The first chapter or so was a bit I was given this book by the author Shayna Varadeaux, via Lovers of Paranormal, in exchange for an honest review. The first chapter or so was a bit confusing but not too off-putting. The characters are great and really well written as well as being consistent and likable.
The book kept me gripped throughout. The love-stories of the various couples are cute but not sickeningly so. Nia and Aaron are just lovely together! The different characters that are brought into the story as we go along all have different aspects of the 'other realms' to share and enlighten us a bit further. I can't wait for the series to continue to find out more about the back stories of them all and the world they come from. True Fate is a great read full of action, betrayal, and love. They even share a love of the Forties — jazz and vintage fashion. They should be together. Everyone can see it. But somehow they never meet.
In this extract from the beginning of the novel, Tess, who has been going out with her boyfriend Dominic since their first week at Manchester, talks about soulmates with her flatmate Kirsty. From time to time, Tess tried to persuade Dominic to try on a vintage suit. Luckily for him, being just over six foot, he was too tall for most of them anyway.
