I am upping my rating! I will definitely go into the next book with an open mind. I saw the reviews and some of them were good. But I was reading a different book to every one else…. Yes I did read I was thinking about this book last night and I think my original review might have been a bit unfair No one deserves such a miracle….. I am supposed to read book 2. All that was missing was the drunken Irish father… then again they lived in Kilburn, so maybe that was implied…. I really hate giving low ratings but, I'm sorry, this one did not do it for me.

Lana Bloom lives on the council estate She's working class, poor, and desperately needs money to he 3. She's working class, poor, and desperately needs money to help her very poorly mum, she'll do anything. She'll do the unthinkable. This is where our rich, beyond your wildest imagination, Blake Law Barrington comes in. He's extravagantly wealthy with an abhorrently powerful family who'll do whatever it takes to keep up appearances and have their heart's desires.

I wish The Billionaire Banker held my attention; the story and Blake kept me interested to the end but I wish some things had been different I needed to feel more of an emotional connection to the characters. There were a lot of short clipped sentences and a lack of contractions which I think maybe affected my overall enjoyment and connection to the story. The parts I loved!!! The sex is fantabulous!!!! In his hands his mouth and body he holds her pleasure.

It gave me the book tingles. I love the pretty woman theme to the story. It's age old but it never fails to make me swoon and dream, and make my heart melt. I like the way the author delves into the British class system. I love the glimpses of Blake's character, his history, his preferences. Glimpses of what may come in the next book. Promises of an exciting intriguing second read. I'm expecting this story to get better and better, I'm already half way through the next book.

Yes reader despite my wish list, I could not wait to start the next book where the writing style is flowing better for me, and the story's becoming very intriguing, and sexy as hell!!! If you like the sound of 'my loves' then sample this book, you may enjoy the ride and you'll get to experience the magnificent Blake Barrington.

She lives with her mother in a very poor neighborhood in England and all she has to offer is her body.. When Blake sets his eyes on a stunningly beautiful young woman in an upscale cafe dressed in shabby cheap clothing, she stands out. Not only in her poor choice of clothing but in her stunning beauty. He overhears her negotiatin - 4. He overhears her negotiating with a seedy ex-rugby player his bank does business with.

She's poor but way too good for this guy. Did she seriously just offer up herself for 50, pounds? Being from one of the wealthiest aristocratic families in England, money is no issue. He doubles the offer There's just something about her. He can have anyone but.. The bones of the story are very similar yet different in many other ways. Blake is the typical cold aloof rich man using Lana for his selfish needs but it doesn't take long for this young innocent to start unraveling his protective walls. Feelings cannot come into play as his life was planned before he was born.

She has no part in his world Lana is truly young and innocent but not weak like other heroines. Blake can say very hurtful things to her but it almost seems like he's forcing himself to be that way. She sees two sides to him and the soft caring side is quickly taking over her heart. The Billionaire Banker sucked me in from the start. I basically read it in one sitting. It has the angsty tug of war of emotions I've grown to love in contemporary romance. The plot is one we've seen variations of over the years but it kept my interest from start to finish. The ending, although not a true cliffy, will leave you anxiously wanting to dive into its sequel Forty 2 Days.

Its hard to determine With the state of mind this book has left me I am finding it very difficult to decide what "category" best suit this book So, back to the story This is not a sunshine and rainbow kind of romance, but a portrayal of a dark, twisted and harsh love that was very difficult to bloom under the circumstances Hero and heroine found themselves The scene of heroine's breakdown on her knees inside the toilet was like a punch to the gut!

I immediately took sympathy for the heroine.. But equally, he had that aura that wanted you to challenge his questionable behavior and pill the tick layers and see "the real" of him There was a moment It made me really hard to warm up to the Hero and all i wanted was for him to just top his stupid thoughts that did not really helped in gaining my respect toward him.. I just questioned the author for her choice of this plot device? This was completely unnecessary and equally ruined the chances for the "Heroes" better character growth At two occasions the Hero was having admirable thoughts about OWs..

Another was that a woman approached him in a bar and he had those too nice thought about her for my comfort zone She has long, shining blonde hair that he can see is natural and pearly teeth.

He wants to be distracted. She is pure sophistication. She is very good at this. What can I say? We also find out the Hero is betrothed to another woman from his clan To be fair, he did warmed up to me in the end and there is "still hope" for him to be "a Hero" i could fall in love with, so I will read a second installment and see how far this hero will take me! I'll review the series when I'm done. View all 10 comments. This one had mixed reviews amongst my GRs peeps. I was worried for nothing. I quite enjoyed this one. Was it similiar to Fifty Shades of Gray? I mean, yes Blake was a billionaire. Yes, Lana was a virgin. Yes, there was a contract involved.

But for me that was where most of the similarities ended. I don't even know how to describe it. It definitely took some getting used to.

But once I did I pretty much flew through the book. Lana comes from a poor family. Her dad left when her mom was diagnosed with cancer. Lana would do anything to help her mom. And anything just happens to be selling her body and in the process her virginity. Over dinner, she propositions her boss Rupert, knowing that this is a habit he has previously indulged in.

Rupert was "You will meet me in parks and alleyways, or I will pick you up in my car from a street corner and you will pretend to resist while I overpower you and rape you. There will be a bit of pain and sometimes it will involve a little bleeding, but I will never mark your face or leave any permanent scars. And when I am finished I will leave you in the gutter to make your own way back.

Blake invites them to a party where he proceeds to double Lana's asking price. And now she belongs to him.

Blake starts out being cold with Lana. A constant reminder to Lana that it's just sex, which was super HOT by the way. Blake is very hot and cold.

She sees glimpses of kindness and caring. Those give her hope. At the same time, Blake can't stop thinking about Lana. His feelings for her change as well. But Blake's family is disturbing. I don't even know what to think about what is going on there. Most of the book was the development of Blake and Lana's relationship arrangement. Lana'a mom finally getting help for her cancer. You all know what I am talking about. And of course the climatic cliffhanger ending. A few final thoughts But I loved her. Overall I found this one very entertaining. I laughed out loud several times. This was a super quick read, I pretty much devoured it.

What a great debut! Don't be fooled by the cover or the title She needs lots of money and this is her only resort. She starts out with a slimeball but is "rescued" by a man who is instantly taken by her and must have her at any price. Blake Barrington is a 29 y 3. Blake Barrington is a 29 yr old arrogant, sexy, controlling arse from one of London's finest family.

He is from a wealthy banking family and he will be married to someone from his own social circle. But meeting Lana as lighted a fire within and he does not understand how this beautiful woman has intrigued and captivated him so instantly. This is only suppose to be a 3 month arrangement but feelings develop between Blake and Lana. We get that Blake has a secret world but what it is we are not sure of.

Lana also has a secret, one that will change her forever. But at the end, something happens that causes Lana to meet Blake's finance, Victoria. She compels Lana to take money and flee Blake. Victoria reminds Lana that her and Blake's relationship was just sexual and nothing more She must choose to stay or leave I will admit that there were some parts to the story that I wish had more explanation. The writing style took a little getting used to but eventually it all worked.

Overall, the story was very intriguing with a lot of interesting angles. The sex scenes were quite scorching!! I did have to jump straight into the next book as this book did have a cliffy. When I first started reading I had to get used to the writing. It was very unusual. One of my GR friends accurately described it as poetic and lyrical. The were no "filler" sentences as I like to call them. The author gets straight to the point of everything. Her way of describing actions and emotions is so unique. Once I got use to her style, it was smooth sailing. I found myself in book heaven. I was so glad that even though she was young and dirt poor she wasn't stupid.

Naive about the world around her? So the story begins in Britain with Lana trying to sell herself temporarily of course to a rich man in order to raise the money she needs to send her mother to a very expensive cancer treatment center in American. So no she is not a whore. She is a beautiful smart nineteen year old girl doing whatever has to be done to save the person she loves the most.

Her story is so heartbreaking at times. Here she is a nineteen year old virgin living in the slums of Britain reduced to selling herself to some strange rich guy who could do God know what to her. The first guy who takes her up on her offer is a total pig. I mean a perverted bastard who tells her view spoiler [ he wants them to role play like strangers and run into each other in alleyways so he can fake rape her and leave her there. That's his brand of kinky. You read that right! And from the first look it was.. He offers to pay her double what shes asking of the P. What ensues from here is a three month contact for meaningless sex that morphs into something neither of them saw coming.

What was meant to be a simple business transaction between two people is now a life altering journey that will have you hanging on to every word. There is a cliffhanger. And boy does it set up for a lotta craziness to go down in the next book. Being it's one of my all time favorite movies, it was a real plus for the book. So they make a deal for three months together which has me totally thinking: First things first, He sends her shopping for new clothes: She's unsure of which silverware to use at dinner: The have some really hot sex: Then like all good love stories things derail and we're left hanging at the end of this one.

I go into them with a sense of anticipation each time. I want them to be great and I want to be captivated. Well, this one didn't let me down at all. What I loved most was that it really wasn't predictable as I thought it would be. Every time I thought I had Blake figured out.. I know that I loved the difference in the POV of this book compared to other similar reads.

I needed to be in his head.. This helped me greatly fall in love with the characters and believe in their love story. There was a lot of mystery and intrigue along with a blazing hot and at times tender and funny romance. The banter between these two was just brilliant. I felt like they complimented each other so beautifully.

I really enjoyed every second. Well except for the "I want to slap a bitch! Blake was intense and just in a way lost in side. I wanted to fix him.. I wanted to tear him down to find out what was under all those sexy layers. I saw him needing somebody to just be there The one person who actually sold her self to him.. I can honestly say he held me captive and my mind was all things Blake the entire book. I can't wait to start the next one View all 3 comments.

I love when that happens, and lately it is getting harder to find the reads that hook you in immediately! This is my first book by Georgia Le Carre, and it will not be my last.

In fact, I am jumping right into the second book as soon as I'm done my little review.. LOL The ending in "Owned" has me fired up and desperate to see what is going to happen, and I need answers I have always been a sucker for the controlling Billionaire books, and this one is definitely no exception.

Lana Bloom is desperate to sell herself to her boss because she has recently found out that her mother is dying. Yes, she is a virgin and only 19; she got wind that her gross, perverted boss is more than willing to pay a high price to have some one he can "play around" with Lana only has a few friends and her mother in her life, so of course she figures this will be her only way to try and keep her mother around a lot longer.

In the midst of her propositioning her disgusting boss; another rich guy over hears their conversation As soon as Blake Law Barrington even his name sounds rich!!! What does he do? He offers double the money that Lana's boss offers. Luckily, Lana finds Blake extremely attractive, and even if the thought of selling her body seems terrible, it will be not much hardship doing the deed with the sexy man!!! Blake is very cold, detached, and yet controlling. He comes from very old money, and he constantly warns Lana that he is no good and neither is the family he comes from.

Underneath his tough exterior though lies a man with a good heart Lana does see it from time to time, and it doesn't take long for her to fall for him. True to his character though, he is very adamant that this is nothing but a business transaction that will be done when the three month contract is up. In true romance land style, there are more than a few bumps in the road that happens!! There are also a ton of secrets that are hinted at, which made me very eager to continue on with this series.

I am dying to find out certain things, and I hope that the villainess that comes to light in this book gets what she deserves in the end!!! I am hooked, and if this is remotely a storyline you think you'd be interested in, I highly suggest giving it a try! I am happy that I gave it a chance and I can't wait for more!!!!

I am so lost for words! I was filled with trepidation as I write this, it's as if something dreadful happened or about to happen, like waiting for an ax to just fall on my head at any moment now. Like an impending doom, a foreboding of unforeseen unknown is about to come my way and life would never be the same again. For someone to feel this way just by reading a book is simply saying, this author possesses such an exceptional skill and ingenuity to make one feel, one is part of the story. It's like Blake and Lana are star crossed lovers but they aren't, they happen to fall between the great divide of the poor and the elite.

What began as an ordinary liaison, ones excuse to satisfy carnal desire and the other to save someones life, became a great affair to remember. Where those who stands to lose, especially Victoria, whose obsession of Blake to make him her husband, scrambles to find a way and stop at nothing to come between Blake and Lana. This is filled with thrills, passion, love, lust and obsession that threw me in a frenzy of conflicting emotions. I was so deeply immersed into this absorbing extra ordinary tale that I did not realized I was at the end, where normally it would make me feel annoyed and left hanging feeling frustrated.

But not this one, this filled me with great longing, with exciting anticipation of what's coming next and looking forward to it, this is amazing and one to remember! I think I am in both categories. She seems to specialize in serialized multi-installment novels with each release being the equivalent of one or two chapters totaling 35 to 50 pages each. I find that I actually enjoy this concept as long as the books are released regularly. Each book is a quick enjoyable read and perfect for what I like to call a palette cleanser - something to stop sensory overload, relax my mind and enjoy in between heavy, full-length novels.

Ms Ford is exceptionally talented in crafting realistic storylines with complex characters and suspenseful plot twists. She also excels at maintaining the momentum of the story throughout the entire book without having to use empty filler to pace the story. If it's there, you better believe it means something and will be important at some point. Her stories are fast paced and always filled with unexpected, suspenseful and surprising twists at every turn. She keeps us guessing and on our toes, wondering what will happen next.

She has quickly become one of my favorite authors. The story is exciting, enchanting, romantic, seductive and arousing. The narrative is exceptionally well written in the first person with alternating his and her points of view although the main POV seems to come from Adriana O'Connor aka "Lemon", the female protagonist of the story. The dialogue is smart, snappy, raw and compelling. The characters are powerful, captivating, complex, engaging, intriguing and sexy as sin.

Ford skillfully crafts these elements into an enticingly sweet cocktail of adult romance with a dash of mystery, suspense and a very erotic twist of BDSM. This story grabbed me from the beginning and won't let go! I can't seem to get enough of Callum and Lemon! Ford keeps us guessing and on our toes - again! This story features recent college graduate Adriana O'Connor who has recently moved from Michigan to New York City to find a job, hopefully in a publishing house and start her new life. Although not unfamiliar with the ways of the world, she is quite naive.

Adriana has agreed to meet Nathan, whom she met on a dating app, for a blind date at Whipped, a club located in Midtown Manhattan. Nathan is a no-show and leaves the lovely Adriana waiting alone. Adriana is totally unaware that whipped is a BDSM Light Club and is caught totally off guard when she catches the eye of someone else Handsome billionaire Callum Wilder is immediately taken with the innocent young beauty sitting alone in the bar but Callum does not date nor does he do relationships.

In Book Two we did learn that yes, she did accompany him on his private jet to his luxurious home in Florida for his "business" meeting. And yes she agreed to finally have sex with him, but Before he would touch her at all, she had to sign a privacy and a nondisclosure statement and an ironclad contract agreeing that it would be for ONLY one night; she was to never disclose any details, she could never tell anyone and she could never, ever contact him for any reason - no exceptions!

And if by chance they ever meet again, she was to act as if she doesn't even know him at all? And if that isn't enough, she also had to agree to be his submissive for the night, completely submit to his every command and to do anything and everything he wanted! Surely, Adriana told him to take a long walk off a short pier, right? And once their one night was over, he flew her back home to NYC without barely a word and dropped her like yesterday's garbage. After refusing to accept his calls throughout the day, Callum breaks into Adriana's apartment that evening where she succumbs to his sexual advances and her feelings for him - again. After a wonderful night with Callum filled with surprising, first-time "vanilla sex", he finally confesses the true nature of his past and current relationship with Rose and makes Adriana a proposition - one in which she must sign another contract but in this one, he will own her - totally and completely - and control every aspect of her life.

It's hot and steamy! Although she may have read the contract, the naive Adriana had no real idea what Callum actually has in store for her. But apparently, even the handsome, dominant Callum is completely unprepared for the depth and intensity of his feelings for his beautiful innocent Lemon. As each of the lovers struggle with their growing addiction for each other, things begin to unravel around them. As a result of her continuing relationship with Callum, Adriana realizes she is in a precarious position with her boss and now runs the risk of not only losing her new job but also losing her dream of working in publishing - forever.

An friend from the past makes a sudden appearance in Callum's life who seems to encourage his relapse but he assures Adriana that he is in control of his addiction. Unfortunately his actions prove otherwise when he shows up inebriated and completely out of control at an Archway Publishing function, attacks Dean Bellingham, costs Adriana her job and gets arrested for assault.

It certainly doesn't look like he's in control but is Callum deceiving Adriana or himself? And now, Callum must make a decision, quite possibly the most important of his life, as he finally realizes that he is completely and irrevocably in love with Adriana O'Connor.
