Most of the songs are from the Beatles era, and the rest from the best-known Wings periods. He sings and plays them faithfully, and with gusto. But the audience is almost as much fun to watch. It's amazing to see boomers laughing and crying and dancing like crazy, but it's also incredible to see little kids, college students, people in their 20s, 30s and 40s, singing every word, from memory, and just basking in the moment.

It's a hugely enjoyable CD for anybody who loves the Beatles catalog, and that's a lot of people. And wonderful, galvanizing performances by, among others, the Jackson Five especially "the little fella in front," as Sullivan calls Michael , the Animals, James Brown, Janis Joplin, Jackie Wilson, the Rolling Stones, and even the Association "Along Comes Mary" are enough to counter the curious inclusion of the Brooklyn Bridge, Jay and the Techniques, and other obscure minor talents.

Watch the astounding events unfold as Beatlemania swept through the UK, across the USA and exploded throughout the world. This is very much the Beatles in "their own words," giving interviews with the press at critical moments in their career as they progressed from adorable "mop tops" to cultural revolutionaries. Songs on CD are not performed by The Beatles. Also a great very long interview on the Unauthorized side of this disc. A must have at a great Amazon Price. The video footage is largely news and local TV footage separated with interviews with people who knew George, such as a friend from school.

There is an interview with George Martin from just after George died and news footage of Paul McCartney with his comments. This DVD is probably only one for the true completist fan otherwise it is a forgettable 'watch once' DVD which seems to have been produced on a low budget.

By tradition, Silicon Valley employers have always offered their bleary-eyed employees lottery tickets in the form of stock options. Stone's films have often weathered criticism for taking extreme political or social positions, and in "Alexander" he has hardly shied away from controversy. As for the two live performances there's also an "Imagine" film clip , both coming at the end of the third Cavett show, let's just say that the Lennons' collaboration with the New York band Elephant's Memory, which yielded the album Sometime in New York City and the two songs they play here his strident "Woman is the Nigger of the World" and her "We're All Water" , wasn't exactly their creative zenith. Paul McCartney's Get Back: Maybe it's an acquired taste. The Beatles were banned for decades by the Soviet government, which regarded their music as the epitome of Western decadence and propaganda, and the fans' only access to the group was through the occasional photo or black market album.

Buy from any one of these locations: The quality is reminiscent of the times, and in today's world of digital video and sound, it's a stretch to say that you'll find these to your liking. These are for the serious collector who remembers rabbit ears on the top of television sets and newsreels at the Saturday matinees.

The year in question is , when the newly married couple staged the notorious "bed-in" at a Toronto hotel to promote their somewhat naive but sincere campaign for world peace. John Lennon Murdered This is simply the broadcast as it was that day and other things happened in the world too and merited attention as well. This simply enhances the video's value as a document of the day's activities. The Messenger is rather optimistically billed as the "Essential John Lennon", an impression the makers hope to consolidate through imperiously smart packaging. Be sure to read the small print on the back, however.

This is an unofficial programme and as such does not contain any music or performances by either the Beatles or John Lennon. Where music does occur, it's in the form of Beatles-esque jingle-jangle courtesy of the splendidly named Dennis Pugsley and the Overtures. Film certainly captures moments; his youth, Beatlemania, Yoko, the "Bed-in", his deportation troubles, etc.

But other unsavory elements aren't mentioned; such as his brief heroin addiction, and even though May Pang offers comment, his affair with her is only touched on briefly. DVD has not yet been released. Great off the cuff remarks by Lennon, and some really classic tracks.

A wonderful series that shows the two as genuinely human. Great set for the collector. Now, no one--most likely including Ringo himself--will claim that the former Beatle drummer is a great singer or artist, but he's an amiable bandleader with a clutch of solo hits to perform, including "Back Off Boogaloo," "Photograph," and "It Don't Come Easy," not to mention the Fabs' own "Yellow Submarine" and "With a Little Help from My Friends.

The jokes about flatulence and sex are banal, but the cast of then-unfamiliar faces is fun to watch from the perspective of history. The best thing going are some dinosaur special effects, though Ringo might argue meeting his future wife Barbara Bach was a good deal. The Movie Unlike similar "psychedelic" films of the 60s, Wonderwall is one of the few to successfully capture the look and feel of what now appears to be a mythic time when creativity and freedom in cinema was not only new and exciting - but mainstream.

Wonderwall will not be for everyone, but it will appeal to those who can appreciate the off-beat and provocative. It will challenge you but also reward you with brilliant performances and one of the best-ever soundtracks by the late George Harrison. But that term does not do justice to what is simply a charming "period piece" that still resonates today for those who like intelligent cinema. Still, choice footage and photographs, along with a McCartney interview by daughter Mary interspersed throughout the program, make this an entertaining history of an often unfairly maligned group.

Wingspan is also a valentine to McCartney's late wife, Linda, who was always by his side, in and out of Wings. But the show--comprised entirely of songs from McCartney's release Run Devil Run--was also seen by a record-setting Internet audience, allowing the whole world to share the joy of seeing McCartney return, literally and musically, to the roots of his illustrious career.

Paul is Live in Concert on the New World Tour I saw this show in , and this video brought back wonderful memories of the excitement. Good dose of Beatles classics, some Wings standards, and a few songs from his then-new album. He looks great, he sounds great, and he seems to be having a ball. I find Guliano provocative and somewhat interesting. Maybe it's an acquired taste. If you don't know anything about The Beatles, its a great place to start. I have had this video since the mids.

I won't say how much I paid for it. Back then videos were Amazon Priced sky high. I have watched it many times since then. I highly recommend it. Considering both the setting and the fact that it came just three weeks after the events of September 11, it's not surprising that the show has a somewhat somber tone, but that makes Lennon's message of universal peace somehow all the more relevant.
