I've been golfing for just a couple of months now and was looking for ways to improve my game. While there are a few pieces missing in the book, it's a great read for anyone who is looking for a step-by-step plan to improve his swing.
The book begins with a short introduction on how to create your personal training plan. The rest of the book pretty much consists of many exercises divided into days and categories short game, mental game I like this concept a lot. This way you can choose the exercises that benefit you most. I struggle with my long game so I chose to work on that. Throughout the exercises the author shares his own experiences and gives tips on what to focus on or how to change specific parts of the exercises, which is nice.
Although the instruction is short and to the point a couple of pictures would have helped me to understand some of the concepts better. Especially because I'm not that long into the game. The book is fairly short.
It delivers what is promised and provides many ideas to draw from. But there's almost no general instruction on golf technique. The author provides some sources and encourages you to learn by doing. Despite these drawbacks, I highly recommend this book.
First, because there are a lot of great exercises and ideas in it to learn from. And because the systematic approach works great.
I already improved my long game and have a better understanding of the golf swing just by doing a couple of the exercises. I've been playing for a couple of years now. So far I have never worked on my swing. Lately I've been struggling with a low hook and thought I would try to understand my swing, and perhaps fix it.
