First of all, Rarity — that of natural active ingredients extracted in optimum conditions to preserve all their beneficial effects. Are you finding it hard to choose between the mountains and the countryside? Two beautiful settings where everything is designed to make your wedding unforgettable. Aux Fermes de Marie, le temps semble se suspendre At Les Fermes de Marie, time seems to stand still. As if in a daydream, the happy newlyweds will have their every wish granted — even the most magical! The Bastide de Marie is an exceptional property dating back to the 18th century, nestled in a lush green setting.
The spirit of Provence embodied in a place, between vineyards, cypresses and old stones. Walk through the vintage wooden door to discover a property steeped in the charm of times past with a pinch of discreet luxury. The colours of Provence are also showcased in the cuisine, as seen in this medley of pan-fried summer vegetables. All is but easy living, lavender scents, chirping cicadas and sun-kissed tranquillity!
You can even learn how to create your own dishes with private lessons! After indulging in a long lunch, relax with a book or take a nap in the lounge with its fireplace and exposed beams. An oasis of calm for simple pleasures, away from the world. Alternatively, opt for a magical experience on the beautiful terrace, lying on a comfortable sun lounger or in the hammock as you doze in the shade of the trees, lulled by the soft sounds of chirping cicadas.
Unless, of course, you prefer to sunbathe by the pool before going for a dip… The hardest part will be to choose! The gentle, bohemian atmosphere of the lounge is ideal for relaxing with a good book… Right page: Villa Grenache features five bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom, and includes a Master bedroom. In the same way as the Bastide de Marie hotel, the interior design is inspired by nature and the colours of Provence. With Sunflower Yellow, Roussillon Ochre, Lavender Mauve, Almond green and Lily White, the palette of shades floods the spaces with natural warmth to create a feeling of calm in the sleeping areas.
The furniture — most of which has been unearthed in different antiques boutiques — lends Villa Grenache the atmosphere of a family home…. Provence can be enjoyed all year round, including in the winter. The sun becomes milder, and the surrounding areas take on the colours so characteristic of winters in the south of France. The elegance of the dining area has continued to shine, half a century after being built. The architect drew inspiration from the existing structure and kept as many original features as possible during the renovation.
Some 50 years after being built in Avoriaz the first building in the resort , the Hotel des Dromonts continues to fascinate locals and tourists alike thanks to its totally unique architecture — a characteristic in keeping with the station. And the finest example of this defining feature is undeniably the Hotel des Dromonts, the first building erected in the resort. But what a funny shape for a hotel! The seats of the rounded benches were designed by the architect after he sat down in the snow!
The rooms feature an elegant blend of slate and wood, in keeping with the style of the rest of the hotel. As soon as it starts to snow in the resort at 1, metres of altitude , the flakes settle on the roof to create a white blanket, blending the building into the landscape. The number 67 on the door-handle — an original feature — is a nod to the year the multi-function building was opened although it technically opened for Christmas Over the years, it has been used as a hotel, apartments and boutiques, and the basement level used to house the renowned Le Roc nightclub, frequented by celebrities and tourists during the Fantasy Film Festival.
Visitors are taken back to the s as soon as they enter the lobby, with black Morzine slate flooring and iconic designer furniture Eames, Perriand, etc. A walk through the lounge areas will reveal the bar, Le Festival, and the restaurant, Les Enfant Terribles, as well as the porthole windows, recesses, passageways and mezzanine floors designed by the architect to create a feeling of open space and limitless freedom. Guests may also enjoy — like Jacques Labro before them — relaxing in front of the brick fireplace and its truly one-of-a-kind aesthetic.
Many will be surprised and delighted to discover that he also personally created the seats on the rounded bench, inspired by sitting down in the snow! And thanks to its eternal architecture, everyone within its walls feels like time is standing still. The year started on a sad note for the mountains with the loss of one of their greatest men, Jean Vuarnet, who passed away on 2 January just before his 84th birthday. Il faut dire que Jean Vuarnet vivait dans le village depuis tout petit.
Ensemble ils auront trois fils, Alain, Pierre et Patrick. The resort of Morzine may have been the hardest hit upon receiving the news that morning. After all, Jean Vuarnet had lived in the village since he was a little boy. It was there that he put on a pair of skis for the first time at the young age of ten. It was there that he developed a passion for the discipline, which would go on to make him an Olympic champion at Squaw Valley on 22 February There was no rivalry between us, only emulation. Together they had three sons, Alain, Pierre and. Et Alain Vuarnet de conclure sur ces mots: Alain Vuarnet went on to write a book dedicated to his father, published in exactly 50 years to the day after his Squaw Valley victory.
A vast alpine plateau was located above Morzine at 1,m of altitude.
The visionary skier saw it as the perfect site to found a ski resort, Avoriaz, perfectly integrated into the surroundings thanks to expert architectural work and the use of red cedar wood from Canada. Vuarnet Eyewear was another storming achievement, created in collaboration with optician Roger Pouilloux after the Winter Olympics. The highest point of Avoriaz is called the Hauts Forts, a place Jean Vuarnet dreamed of while in the United States, and where he wanted his ashes to be scattered.
It was a moment of great intensity and emotion. By creating Terminal Neige — Totem in Flaine, the Sibuet family has rewritten the codes of mountain hotels. While conserving the warm and cosy appeal of a piste-side hotel, the Totem has injected a shot of innovation by offering a contemporary and staunchly urban dimension.
And of course, the architecture and interior design of Marcel Breuer are still in pride of place. We took a look at this latest success story. For example, the fabric for the curtains was specially created by an Italian artisan. The atmosphere at the Totem shows guests they are in a hotel that has perfectly blended alpine inspiration with an urban ambiance. And the combination works wonders. The rooms are cosy cocoons in a celebration of sobriety, where everything serves an aesthetic purpose.
The furniture crafted in chestnut oak was tailor-made by Jean-Louis and Nicolas Sibuet, and lends a certain warmth to the mineral character of the concrete. Art is present throughout the hotel. The atmosphere makes for an intimate setting where guests feel immediately at home. Those looking for an even more immersive experience — beyond the 96 rooms and suites — can discover the loft spanning m2. This space exists in a time of its own, almost independently from the hotel, and offers the ideal setting for a holiday with family or friends in an intimate oasis rarely available in a hotel.
The vast, fully south-facing terrace is a private outdoor haven while the three large rooms with en-suite bathrooms are all comfortable and spacious. And last but not least, a Marcel Breuer fireplace stands in the middle of the enormous lounge, and dates back to when the resort was founded. Whether in the bar or the restaurant, the Totem exudes a real community spirit that has contributed to its success. There really is something for everyone! Those looking to enjoy the full Mountain Therapy experience should head to the Day Spa, for a whole day devoted to well-being. All you need to spend a wonderful day indoors if a snowstorm sets in….
Far more than a mere boutique, the Ski Shop is a space that fosters friendly encounters and sporting advice within the hotel itself. As well as clothing and accessories, there are technicians on hand to help you choose the best equipment, while also repairing, waxing and sharpening your skis in the on-site workshop. The Totem can satisfy your every culinary desire for sweet and savoury cuisine. S'il ne fallait en essayer qu'un?
If you want to enjoy the best in relaxation and physical well-being, the Pure Altitude programs include halfdays dedicated exclusively to you, with comprehensive, meticulously developed treatments. The entrance to the hotel offers a glimpse of what to expect. The contemporary, elegant building forms a U-shape around a vast wooden terrace. In an effort to avoid creating a single block, the architect designed multi-tiered roofs in a chalet style. Cladding with locally-sourced stone and grey wood sets the hotel apart from the nearby constructions.
Environment was a key deciding factor, and the highest possible quality of insulation has been installed — a modern initiative driven by the Sibuet family. Altapura is far more than a mere hotel — it single-handedly embodies the future of mountain living, showcasing contemporary style and a design in harmony with its environment. Guests swimming in the heated outdoor pool will be able to enjoy the sunshine or the snowflakes!
The interior design at Altapura is a based on a coherent, simple blend of stone and wood. The style of layering different woods oak, beech, etc. We focused on light-coloured woods to create a Nordic touch while preserving the alpine style of the s. Altapura pays tribute to the sports spirit of Val Thorens resort! The nobility of wood and stone brings all the elegance of this "ski palace". The entrance hall opens onto a majestically imposing staircase that winds its way down to the ground following a monumental wave of vintage wooden skis collected by the Sibuet family.
The walls of the staircase and the bar are clad with a wooden mosaic, an ingenious, tailor-made design developed right here in the hotel. The lounge offers the ideal spot to admire the interplaying lightwork, with ceiling panels by the artist Jakos, backlit crates equipped with openwork panels, and laser-cut chandeliers, all crafted using the finest wood. The chairs are upholstered with calming grey fabrics and the soft white furs. The incredibly cosy lounge is an invitation to really take your time to read a magazine or chat while sat comfortably on the armchairs and sofas….
Nicolas Sibuet collected every colourful, vintage pair he could find! Guests can indulge in an excellent mulled wine or a glass of champagne while curled up in a furcovered ski lift under a chandelier made of ski poles. The 2mille3 restaurant offers a revisited buffet with an open kitchen in a room decorated with light colours and imposing chandeliers designed by the artist Jakos, with access onto the terrace.
Cheese enthusiasts should drop by La Laiterie, a small space decorated in the style of a dairy with light-coloured wood, white tiling on the walls and milk jugs on the shelves. This third restaurant has been given a modern twist thanks to graffiti artist Wozdat and his original works tagged on the doors and the ceiling. The Altapura spa is a reflection of the Pure Altitude philosophy, which consists of using the best nature has to offer to revitalise your body and mind. The design of the pool is emphasised with a granite monochrome to create a mineral atmosphere.
A wall of glass blocks lets light flood into the spa, while also distributing the different treatment areas. The booths are clad with carved birch trunks to create a natural well-being space where you can indulge in any one of the Pure Altitude treatments to relax and repair your muscles. The Spa extends the mineral spirit of the hotel. Each room has a breathtaking view of the snow-covered peaks. The boldly-coloured woollen fabrics in orange, blue, fuchsia and green revitalise the rooms and pep up the raw, natural, elegant aesthetic.
The bathrooms are crafted in granite to emulate ambiance of the hotel spa. Relax in front of a roaring fire Take advantage of all the activities around the mountain in the summer. With its warm, cosy ambiance, the pre-dinner snacks at the Mont-Blanc Hotel are sure to leave a lasting impression. In front of the hotel, those with a penchant for savoury delicacies will delight in the seafood stand. Take the time to sample the oysters with a class of cold white wine or ice-cold champagne, and admire the passing horse-drawn carriages and the exciting end-ofday bustle! This is exactly the experience offered by the seminars at the Hotel Mont-Blanc. After a two-hour stroll to discover the heart of the small village, the shopping streets, the main square and the church under a beautiful blue sky, the group enjoyed a number of sporting activities.
In an effort to keep everyone happy, the team reserved a table at the restaurant at the legendary Mont-Blanc hotel. It was a beautiful experience to share together. As for the meetings, because they did have to work a little in between activities! The conference room has a capacity of more than 15 people, and is designed to foster concentration and teamwork with overhead projectors, Wi-Fi, notepads and a vast selection of pastries and fruit juices for everyone.

After an energising swim, the indoor and outdoor saunas are waiting to really detoxify the body, while the hot and cold Japanese baths tone and firm the skin. And to round off the experience, we recommend the heated, wooden Nordic bath — to be enjoyed as the snow falls all around, for an extra magical experience. This mountain plant is renowned for resisting extreme climactic changes. Its leaves boast a bold, bright-green hue from the moment the snow melts in the spring, thanks to a high-quantity of a protein called dehydrin present in the plant. This molecule acts as a tiny sponge to hold water around the cell membrane and ensure a consistent level of hydration.
Smoking, too much alcohol, and the simple fact of natural aging all contribute to weakening our defences.
The most visible sign of this deterioration is the appearance of more prominent wrinkles every year. But it is possible to limit and slow down this process by strengthening antioxidant defences by eating appropriately and using antioxidant supplements such as those naturally found in the Alpine Rose. Edelweiss is the flagship product at Pure Altitude, and is renowned for its resistance to intense sunlight and extreme temperatures. When analysing its active ingredients, we can observe the presence of phenolic combinations and leontopodic acid — a molecule specific to Edelweiss with particularly antioxidizing properties, which helps to protect the plant at high altitude.
These active ingredients help to keep skin tight while hydrating and restoring a radiant complexion.
