Jaguars highlights Week Cody Kessler rushes for a yard gain vs. Dede Westbrook rushes for a yard gain vs.
David Williams bursts through hole for yard gain. Sack by Calais Campbell. H e did it on fourth and one, what about fourth and two? The Jaguars again fail to find a first down in three plays, and are going for it again. Bortles opts to pass this time but he's nowhere near Moncrief and that'll give the ball back to Philly. B ortles is almost sacked, but somehow gets an underhand pass away to TJ Yeldon and that's a gain of nine.
He follows it up with a horrible throw on second and one. His pass on third down is broken up, but the Jags are going for it on fourh and one on their own yard line. W ow, that must have been close, but the officials back in New York have overturned the call. That turns a Jags turnover into a three-yard gain for the Eagles. How will the Jaguars defense respond? By sacking Carson Wentz on the very next play! That's Yannick Ngakoue right through the middle. Agholor is then brought down for no gain and the Eagles will have to punt. That's a brilliant series from the Jacksonville defense - just what they needed.
O h my word! Wentz hands the ball off to Josh Adams, and the rookie - who'd been enjoying a really nice game today - fumbles the ball, and the Jags have it! The play will be reviewed - and there's a chance Adams' left buttock may have been down before the ball came loose - but if the call on the field stands this is absolutely massive for Jacksonville. L ess than seven minutes to go now here.
Who are you backing? T he Jags will have to settle for the Lambo field goal then. That'll bring this back to a one-score game, but the Jacksonville defense needs a stop at the very least here now. N igel Bradham hits Blake Bortles as he dives after a five-yard rush, and that penalty will give the Jaguars an automatic first down. They waste the first two attempts, so it'll be third and goal from the seven. Bortles' pass was over Chark's head and could have been much better, but the receiver still has to catch that. I t's third and four and Blake Bortles steps back TJ Yeldon is wide open down the right-hand side!
He's past the 30, up the 20, and now he's brought down. That's a massive play for Jacksonville. S o the Jaguars have just under ten minutes to overturn a nine-point defecit. No pressure Blake, but you need at least a field goal on this drive. What was he thinking? A nd there it is!
Zach Ertz is far too good for rookie corner Tre Herndon. That's a very familiar connection for Philadelphia, and Elliott's extra point turns this into a two-score game. I t's the man Josh Adams again. He jinks his way down the left-hand side and that's another Eagles first down. That'll be fist and goal. C arson Wentz has his serious face on. A big play to Jordan Matthews over the middle gains 36 yards, and on the following play Wentz takes it himself and fives just short of a first down around the Jags' yard line.
A flip out right to Wendell Smallwood does get the first, and the Eagles are moving quickly here. B ortles fires at Dede Westbrook in the end zoooooone Jacksonville will have to settle for a field goal, which former Everton trainee Josh Lambo puts through the posts. We've got a two-point game, folks! We've got a close game in London! T he Jags' first play of the fourth quarter is blown up and Bortles has to throw it away.
An offensive pass interference penalty rubs salt in the wounds, and it's second and Not a great start. Hold on though, Bortles turns the second and 20 into third and seven with a pass over the middle to Blake Bell, and now he's found DJ Chark for the first down. That'll be it for the third quarter, but the Jaguars will start the final period within sight of the red zone.
I t's Dede Westbrook on the return for Jacksonville, and it's a good one! He takes it all the way up to the halfway line, but Jordan Kicks sacks Bortles and leaves him with a third and eight. He decides to go himself Bortles runs up the middle and dives for a first down! T he Eagles try a passing play on first down They run Smallwood on second and that doesn't work either. That'll be third and ten for Carson Wentz - can he make it eight from ten on third down here? We'll have to wait and see - Jaguars cornerback Quenton Meeks is down injured.
Oh man, Jacksonville really can't afford to lose anyone else at corner. Here we go, Wentz drops back and he's That's an yard loss, and the Eagles have to punt. O ver to you, Carson. Surely the Eagles can't blow another first-half lead? Bortles pump fakes and then lofts one right over the middle. No one can get near Westbook and Jacksonville are into the end zone for the first time today. The Jags are going for two here. Bortles looks for Westbrook again, but this time the pass is broken up, and Jacksonville stay five points back.
We might have a game here D avid Greenage is coming into this game in a big way. The tight end was only signed off the practice squad two weeks ago, but he nearly had his first touchdown pass there. Bortles throws one just over his head, and after a modest gain from Moncrief the Jags are third and seven. T he Jags start their comeback attempt nicely.
Bortles finds Moncrief underneath and he runs down the sideline for a gain of Tight end David Greenage gains eight, and then catches another for a big first down. The Jags are into the red zone. C arson Wentz totally fools the Jags defense, who think he's going over the right. Instead he flips the ball to running back Wendell Smallwood out left, and Smallwood takes it 36 yards completely untouched for the easiest of touchdowns.
Elliott converts the extra point and Philadelphia are in full control here. T he Eagles have been great on third down today, and Wentz converts again in third and two, finding Jordan Matthews for Philly well into Jacksonville territory. W entz goes to Jeffery again, before handing off to Josh Adams on third and six, and Adams bursts through the middle of the Jacksonville line.
He keeps going, and that run right up the gut will get him 21 yards. The rookie out of Notre Dame is making a bit of a splash today. W entz shows some incredible athleticism to duck under an onrushing Calais Campbell when he looked certain to end up on his backside. The Eagles QB has to toss the ball away, though, and he's left with a third and nine right in front of his own end zone.
T he Jags can't move the ball again after that nice gain to Moncrief. Bortles is really being let down by his offensive line today - as he has been for much of the season. He just isn't a good enough quarterback to flourish with such poor line play. A nice punt means Carson Wentz will start with the ball on his own five-yard line when the Eagles offense comes back out.
Khan has had a yacht bearing a giant metal Jaguar parked on the Thames this week. It's probably worth more than everything I will ever own. B lake Bortles holds onto the ball for probably a little too long, but he avoids pressure and find Donte Moncrief for the first time today. Moncrief gallops over the halfway line and the Jags have a first down in Philly territory. D J Chark takes knee from Jake Elliott's kick-off, and we're off in the second half.
Big news for the Eagles - Jason Peters has been cleared to return at left tackle when Philadelphia's offense gets back on the field. They each have two scrambles for first downs, and both have shown an ability to keep plays alive with their movements both inside and out of the pocket. Bortles hasn't really been the problem for the Jags offense today - the running game hasn't got going and they have just four first downs and 90 total yards in the first half.
Compare that to the Eagles, who have 12 first downs and yards. T he Jaguars' lack of turnovers has been one of their biggest problems this season. They averaged two per game last year - second in the NFL - but were 31st in the league going into today with just 0. They already have two in this first half here in London, and it's their big name players who have done the business.
A recovered fumble by Telvin Smith and a pick from Jalen Ramsey in the end zone have put the ball back in Blake Bortles' hands, but the Jaguars offense hasn't been able to capitalise. T he Jaguars get the ball back but can't go anywhere in the half's remaining seconds, which means the Eagles go into the break with the lead.
They've been the better team on offense - Wentz has yards passing to Bortles' 60 - but the Jaguars' defense is giving them a chance. W entz has used his legs really well in this first half. He runs for another first down, and sets up an opportunity on the Jaguars' yard line. On the next play he find rookie tight end Dallas Goedert, who jags his way into the end zone for the first touchdown on the game!
How will the Jaguars defense respond? Not sure what the poor old Jaguars drum line did to deserve such a sturdy boo-ing, but that's what they got. A nd there it is! Bortles' QB play energized the defense. That'll bring up the two-minute warning, and only something drastic will stop the Eagles winning this now. Bortles looks for Westbrook again, but this time the pass is broken up, and Jacksonville stay five points back. Wentz gives it to him again for a gain of around two.
Jake Elliott gets the extra point, and it's Philadelphia. O oooh, Wentz goes deep for Agholor and first and ten and the receiver is open, but Wentz's pass is just a little too deep for him. The Eagles still have three time outs, plenty of time B ortles' pass on first and ten is tipped and incomplete, and his second finds Keelan Cole for what looks like a first down until, no! He's hit by Avonte Maddox, the ball comes out and it's recovered by Malcolm Jenkins!
Carson Wentz gets one more opportunity before half-time. C arson Wentz's pass on third and long is incomplete, which gives the Jaguars around seconds to widen their lead before half-time.
Here comes Blake Bortles again. B ritain's best NFL export has made the trip back to his homeland, but is hobbling around on crutches instead of busting through tackles this afternoon. T he Eagles can't get anything going here. The Jags defense shuts them down twice in a row and we'll have a third and long from Philadelphia's own yard line when we return after the two-minute warning time out.
A worry for Philly is left tackle Jason Peters and right tackle Lane Johnson are both off the field injured. Peters is being checked for a concussion and Johnson has a knee injury - we don't know yet if either will return. W hat a kick from Lambo! He nails one from 57 yards, and the Jaguars are back in front. The kick didn't have many legs left as it went through the uprights, but that's one hell of an effort.
L ooks like I spoke too soon Bortles is brought down and the Jags suddenly find themselves stuck at third and That puts the Jaguars into Eagles territory - they're putting a nice little drive together here F rom Thom Gibbs at Wembley: Just witnessed a well-lubricated fella in a Wentz jersey accidentally ruin his sunglasses while angrily throwing nothing in particular as his QB was sacked. Glasses went flying and broke in two.
This month's Book With Buzz: "The Lying Game" by Ruth Ware From the instant New York Times bestselling author of blockbuster thrillers "In a Dark, Dark Wood" . Tom Watt, who wrote the Jags books, used to manage a football team. His team played to raise money for charity. They were called the Walford Boys' Club.
He then tried to grab a beer from someone he didn't know. Same could be said about Jags defense, loved that stop! H ere's the big gain from Zach Etrz that put the Eagles into a promising position Campbell93 with the SACK! I t's good from Elliott But just about is good enough, and we've got a tie game here in London. O n second and ten Calais Campbell gets round the outside and brings Wentz down around the yard line.
There's nothing going for him on the next play, and Jake Elliott will attempt a field goal to level the scores. H ere's our first red zone opportunity of the game as Wentz gets the ball to Jeffery for a first down. T here he is again. Wentz to Ertz on second and ten and it's a yard gain for the big tight end. Josh Adams follows it up with a powerful run through the middle and the Eagles have a second and three around the Jacksonville yard line. T hat's another first down for Nelson Agholor, who gets it after a big stiff arm.
Nice start for number 13, who's already closing in on 50 yards receiving. T ight end Zach Ertz catches a pass for a six-yard gain. Only Vikings receiver Adam Thielen has more receptions that Ertz so far this season. Expect to hear his name a lot more this afternoon. On third and three running back Josh Adams gets five, and it's a first down. C hris Long eats the Jaguars offensive line for breakfast and swallows up Blake Bortles for a big loss.
