The author did an excellent job showing the interaction between the different cultures and faith.

The storyline is well-written and each character had their own different personality with troubles showing how their faith helped each one. Also, despite the differences in each person, they could in some way be a help to each other. I enjoyed reading this novella and highly recommend reading it. I'm looking forward to the next book I will read by author R A Simple Crossroads is a fantastic novella. I'm looking forward to the next book I will read by author Rosalind Lauer.

Things I love about this author's writing are phrases that fit the moment but also fit lots of other things as well. This is the first book of the series.

And I really enjoyed until the end. Oh, it's not a bad ending. But it's the-same-problem so many novellas haveit just sorta stops. She DOES give the reader and end. A Simple Crossroads brings us to a setting sligtly unusual for an Amish novella: Many different people sell their goods at this busy marketplace, among them Lizzy King with her husband of five years, Joe. Their marriage is happy, but Lizzie is still yearning for a baby. Remaining childless for so long is not easy for her, especially among the big families of her Amish community.

During the difficult time of her miscarriage, she is helped and befriended by Juanita, a Puert A Simple Crossroads brings us to a setting sligtly unusual for an Amish novella: Juanita was brought up by loving, yet strict parents and learned to obey them, because they always wanted the best for her.

Both young woman have their struggles, yet they remain caring and open to the plights of others. They support and enable each other to overcome their fears and insecurities and they find good friends in other workers at the market. Rosalind Lauer was perfectly capable to keep me interested with the twists and turns of her story till the very end, and I really appreciated her clear and rich language. I received my copy through Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

Fortunately, in the Amish community, help is never far away. To ease Fanny's burdens, the bishop sends Zed Miller to the Lapp house.

Fanny is drawn to kind, handsome Zed, who suffers from sins of the past. But to everything there is a season, and Fanny cannot act on her feelings while mourning her husband.
