On one hand, the Color Guard series has proven to be a highly imaginative and not to mention creative take on Vamps, Witches, Were's, Shifters, and other cool PNR elements. When I read the last page of , I was left wondering what happens to Ms. Well, in this book, we finally get the answer, and it's a satisfactory one. Firtik does a fine job with making us wonder what happens next???

There aren't a lot of authors who can pull off dangling the proverbial carrot in front of their readers, but Ms. Firtik manages to pull it off nicely. Overall, I believe that this series has the potential for greatness, but, it needs some work to resolve some editing quirks. Being a stickler for editing, I cannot let this opportunity go by without saying that a good editor might have made the difference with this book.
Despite the quirks, I do want to say this, I respect the love that Ms. So what's my final say on this series?
The Color Guard series is worth investigating, but just like a good wine, the series needs a more time for development. I'm giving it a solid 2 star rating.
This is the second novel in the Color Guard series, you can tell new author Susan is growing and becoming a great story teller. I enjoyed this book and look forward to the continuing story.
