Apr 14, Messages: Apr 14, 2. Yeah, it was a pretty great track I actually thought it was more powerful then the music for Rohan's charge at Pellenor which is kinda unfortunate. Puckducker , Apr 14, Apr 14, 3. Jul 25, Messages: Apr 15, 4. I only really like the bit that actually plays during the charge aka the end of the track , but that bit is certainly very powerful.
Ben del Maestro's singing voice is one of the best things about the trilogy I wouldn't say it was the most powerful piece of music ever though. OsephLaBrice , Apr 15, Mar 2, Messages: Apr 15, 5. Sep 25, Messages: Apr 15, 6. It is very powerful during the film itself. On its own it still sounds good, but is nothing compared to hearing it while watching two thousand horsemen charge down a hill.
The music for the Pelennor Fields didn't need to be as powerful. Theoden's speech and the "Death" chant already took care of that. HeroofTime , Apr 15, Nov 10, Messages: Apr 15, 7.
Dec 15, Messages: I just wanted to be with her. I just pretend you talking about the book, so we don't have to face the reality that he's really a very sick man. Samwise and chilling sounds amazing. Maybe avoid the hobbit movies, though, unless someone edited them down to a decent movie. But how are you gonna keep her awake tho? It took 4 days for my wife to finish the trilogy with me, and she really liked the movies.
There is no escape. My local theater showed all 3 extended cuts. It started at noon and ended at almost 1AM.
There were only like six of us there. Alamo Draft House does something similar for Thanksgiving where they show all Hobbit and LOTR movies back to back and serve seven meals over the course of 20! Having a couple friends and gf. Have a menu and schedule planned out. Do you live in CO by chance? Our local theater did the same and I was wondering if you were one of those few there lol.
Our Cinematheque has done that several times. They start around PM and have a intermission in between each movie. They actually do a lot of double and occasionally triple features. The first time I ever watched LotR was watching each extended edition in three days.
Best movie-watching experience of my life. I remember when I just moved and was waiting to hear back from a job, my wife and I were sitting on the couch.
Those ten hours feel like a lifetime. They said they thoroughly did not recommend it, since by the time you get to the actually good LOTR movies, you've sat through 12 hours of hobbit already. It was awesome seeing them on extended format in the theater and they even had intros for each movie by Peter Jackson. Like, it didn't make me float on air or just bowl me over. Idk if it can be streamed though.
I said to her "want to watch LOTR? So naturally I put on the extended editions and tell her nothing. Her reaction 3 days later was "WTF, is there no shorter version we could have watched? My brother and his friend did it once. Watched all three hobbit movies and the extended editions in one sitting.
It took me about 22 hours. I did the 3 extended hobbits so that I could say I did in situations like this. Those ten hours feel like a lifetime. The first time I watched the LotR movies was actually in a protracted 12 hour session with my brother and father during Christmas Vacation, with breaks for lunch and dinner. And yes, there are only a few who can. My brother and I frequently fell asleep during the more talkative scenes, and the whole "Remaining sedentary and eating junk food for 12 hours straight" thing made the two of us feel horrible for the next few days. Awesome and worth it, but I will never do it again.
When I was like 23 my dad got all the extended movies for Christmas and while visiting we watched it as a family it was nice. Is it worth it to watch extended edition if I have watched only fellowship and some parts of the other two or should I just watch the normal versions first? One of my favorite Saturdays of all time was when I discovered the extended editions No regrets for spending the day inside. When you did this and the hobbit, both extended https: I didn't know that they were saying that, and when I asked my friend, he seriously told me they were saying, "Fort Eorlingas" as a remembrance of a past battle like "Remember the Alamo!
The wife and I did this a few years back.
We called it couch-bed day and knocked these fuckers out. It is an all day affair for sure. You think the 12 endings of Return of the King last a long time in the normal cut You really understand how Frodo feels after the Ring goes into the fire. Our local theater played all three back to back last week, and conveniently on a day my wife and I both had off.
Forth Eorlingas was a battle-cry of the Rohirrim. It referred to their first king, Eorl - a name meaning "The People of Eorl." The Lord of the Rings The Two Towers () - "Forth Eorlingas" scene Forth Eorlingas! THE TWO TOWERS Fifteen Years Later. How Peter Jackson created one of the best "middle" movies ever. By Tom Augustine.
Best 14 hours ever. They were nice enough put an hour, fifteen minutes to break between each so we could get breakfast and dinner! Such a fun day. We were there from noon to 2 am lol! Can someone change the picture to Barney Stinson and caption says - "Challenge Accepted". We do this every year on New Years.
We start at 9 a. The challenge is to not nod off during parts of Two Towers. Though I smelled kinda bad from laying there sweating in my boxers for 12 hours. I stumbled upon a marathon at my local theater just before The Hobbit was set to release. Walked in about 10 minutes into the first movie. It was awesome seeing them on extended format in the theater and they even had intros for each movie by Peter Jackson. But the seats were not nearly comfortable enough to do that again.
Plus, I had to buy all of my food at the theater because it was a spur of the moment thing and couldn't have prepared. The worst part is two of those hours are the credits. I vividly remember doing a lotr EE marathon, in which after finishing the second movie, making a late lunch, coming back, and it being on the 's' names. My boyfriend and I did it the other day it was fantastic. We started return of the king at 1: My friends did this, hobbit and LOTR both extended editions of course back to back, I think it was like 23 hours.
They said they thoroughly did not recommend it, since by the time you get to the actually good LOTR movies, you've sat through 12 hours of hobbit already. Well last month i did watch non stop whole hobbit and LOTR. That was fun but i doubt that i will do that ever again. I have done it once at the age of nine years old, you must master the couch as you have mastered your life.
Do you guys sit through the credits that last like 30 mins as well? I dont remember the actual films being longer than 12 hours.
Deadassthough, I have a tradition to watch all three extended cuts every winter holiday break in one sitting. Lol my family's done it twice. Dad passes out midway through Two Towers and wakes up for return of the king every time like clockwork. My old roommate and I would play a game of civ and binge watch something.
All three LOTRs and we barely made it halfway through our game. My cousins and I watched all of the Lord of the Rings and all the Hobbits extended editions and it 24 hours! I've been tying to find a link to download the extendeds, does anyone have one? I only own the theatrical versions. Following I made my friends go through the theatrical versions I had them all on throughout the day when I was switching between watching and doing chores.
Been there, done that.
