Seeing that the street was named during his time, my guess that the origin if giving that street its name is sort of unknown to why it got named in his honor despite not being there at any point in his life. I heard washington irving started a club for descendants of dutch families called the st. I just want to clear this up, did Washington Irving really have any history on this street at any point in his life or was it just named after him in his honor after being randomly picked for him?
