The language is delicious and the storytelling really captured my attention. In just a few words Agualusa can paint a character, create a friendship or begin a revolution. I did need to take notes on the characters names especially on the first chapters as they came in hordes and I couldn't keep up!

And a few not The story of a failed dream And a few notes on my edition, published by Leya: Also I've spotted quite a few typos. Otherwise, thanks for the edition of books in pocket version Portuguese type of paperbacks , it is appreciated! An accurate portrait of a group of men who plotted for the independence of Angola from the hands of Portugal between and when racism was still ablaze and a few still regreted the abolishment of slavery.

Filled with love stories, bounds of friendship, clairvoyant children, and with the magic writing of Agualusa I recommend it. Oct 03, Raquel rated it liked it.
