    USAC's livestream policies do not allow for audio or video for a segment of its public comment periods, so as to protect the identity of students, but there are currently no regulations in place for Student Media livestreaming of council meetings. What do you think about this? The student government should be able to restrict the public from recording its meetings, as it has the right to protect the identities of students who may face safety issues for what they say.

    USAC meetings are a public forum and student journalists should be able to livestream to make this information accessible to the public. The debate over livestreaming in USAC meetings is irrelevant, as few students watch livestreams of undergraduate student government meetings.

    Children marvel at one of the Blinc installations at the Adelaide Festival. But no familiarity with Fela Kuti's music was needed to join eagerly in what Adesola Osakalumi, playing Fela, called his "Afrobeat party". This may have been the whitest, most white-haired crowd to see Kuti in any of his permutations, and they happily rose to their feet and thrust their hips when called on.

    The impeccable band, anchored by a four-piece horn section, drove the groove, while dancers dazzled with hips thrown in seemingly impossible directions. But this was Fela Kuti's show, and Osakalumi's galvanising, hugely physical performance as the man was a triumph.

    It wasn't all music as the Adelaide Festival drew to a close with an expected attendance of , Blinc, a Vivid-like series of light installations and projections, continued to crane necks towards patterns and images on buildings and trees, while Adelaide's Trent Parke — Australia's only Magnum photographer — opened his latest exhibition, The Black Rose , at the Art Gallery of South Australia.

    Full of dark, high contrast black-and-white imagery of memory triggers a father's watch, his mother's hair and ghoulish vignettes from the Australian bush several walls were jigsawed with starched-out pictures of dead native animals , it tells the story of Parke coming to terms with his mother's death when he was just One of the finest photographic exhibitions we've seen in years.

    But it was Elfman's weekend, really. And the man himself showed up at the end of his concert to perform a medley of songs from The Nightmare Before Christmas , the Tim Burton-conceived, Henry Selick-directed claymation story of a Halloween hero who tries to take over Christmas.
