I got this when it first came out from Donna and realized the other day that I totally forgot to write a review on it. Yates takes the reader through a veritable roller coaster of experiences including loss, anger, hope and joy. Also, be sure to listen to the author's reading of her own poetry. I do not usually delve into this area of writing, and therefore cannot offer any insights of expertise-only my own opinions. Suffice it to say that the title gives a pretty clear idea of much of the topics of DM's poetry. Love is a major theme in this collection.

It is through love that many other emotions are expressed. Yates takes the reader through a veritable roller coaster of experiences including loss, anger, hope and joy. Also, be sure to listen to the author's reading of her own poetry. She has a voice like spring's first warming rays of sunshine to melt the frost in one's heart, and a lilt that caresses your face as an autumn breeze after an Indian Summer. If you like poetry, you'll like this book. The author has written some lovely, and sometimes quirky poems.

My favourite was her take on the three little pigs, but there are so many, too many to comment on fully. Many of them are about the little things in our lives; love, life and respect, as well as just her feelings about a particular subject that might be happening to her in her real life. Overall, a poetry book that anyone can read and relate to. It's very difficult to review a poetry collection. Since poetry is straight from the heart, all I can do is tell you my heartfelt reaction to the poems in this collection.

Reviewing poetry is a bit like reviewing the poet's soul, and in this case, I'd have to say Yates' soul is pure, beautiful, and compassionate.

The poems are divided into different sections, and I was able to choose favorites from each, though it was impossible to narrow it down to just one or two. I particularly connected with "A Warriors Call", which is a lovely tribute to men an women in uniform. It talks about our society's obsession with acquiring things and how people replace true bounty love, friendship, nature with useless things.

Our Therapists

This is something I've contemplated numerous times, and Yates expresses her thoughts in a very clear and honest manner. It evokes the image of untamed land and the purity of nature. There are too many poems in the collection for me to pay homage to. I can honestly say I enjoyed them all. While reading, I could feel the poet's emotions in each piece. From fun and whimsical, to spiritual, to heart-wrenching, there is a little something for everyone in this collection.

I'm so glad I read these poems and look forward to returning again and again to reread them. One person found this helpful.

Dec 22, Claudine Yanting rated it really liked it. Author Donna Yates has a lot of heart. It's a book of poetry with work about the following categories: In some places, the word usage seems strange. For example, the poem "I am who I Am" seemed a little bit weird to me because I just don't think it flowed as well as it could have and the words don't seem to work well together.

Currently, I am studying for a degree in Osteopathic Medicine, which I believe will strengthen the application of my knowledge in my daily practice. Over the years I have found that being a natural health practitioner is in line with my warm personality, caring skills and a giving heart combined with a strong will to deliver wellness to others. In this journey I find my days are worthwhile and extremely rewarding.

I became a Reiki Therapist in after experiencing its healing power myself, when due to the auto immune disease called Rheumatoid Arthritis, I took medical retirement from office work after twenty five years. When not healing, I love the usual things such as travel, theatre, and people who help me to laugh, appreciate and enjoy our precious life. I have been doing my own personal practice of yoga for 16 years. I did my Sivananda teachers course in Spring and began teaching part time soon thereafter.

In September I completed an Ashstanga teachers qualification. I teach both classes and one to one sessions. I enjoy learning and evolving as a teacher and helping others gain the benefits of this wonderful practice. My quest for good health and a deeper understanding of the self made me change my tracks from the corporate field and led me onto the wonderful journey of healing. I keenly research and apply various new healing techniques in my day to day life - Divination and Ayurveda, being my forte.

My book on Ayurvedic food Karmaa Kitchen is one such outcome of my interests. Every solution I offer my clients is unique in approach, yet rooted in ancient healing methods and traditions. My goal is to make my clients aware of themselves by educating them about healing, thus making them self reliant and helping them to recognise and honour their own potential. After 11 years of a successful business and real estate career in corporate America, constant stress and personal emotional traumas, I felt tired, unfulfilled and ready for a change.

Turning to alternative solutions to busy lifestyle, I started regular yoga and meditation practice in , and in I devoted all my focus and energy on personal development alone. I healed myself and understood that overall wellness depends on the balance between body, mind and soul, and it is the solution to letting go of all physical, emotional and mental pain.

In my work I encourage people to find that balance and successfully deal with stress, fatigue, sleeping problems, anxiety, lack of focus, mood swings, depression, tiredness, physical and emotional blockages and pain, different life changes, personal growth and self-development challenges, relationship difficulties, feeling confused and lost etc.

I worked with many different people in many different countries and understand cultural and behavioural differences and challenges.
