They just made a movie of this classic by B. It arrived it perfect condition. I have not had time to read it yet but a colleague of mine told me that the book is better than the movie as is the case most of the time.

Apparently it is a book much appreciated by adolescents. Since I am a French teacher, I wanted to read it before assigning it to students. This is a great story written long ago,and now a movie has been made for it.

It mixes fantasy and reality,and is an enjoyable read for those who love the French language. I ordered the lovely new, film tie-in edition of this novel as gift, however Amazon sent me an old edition that featured ugly bobble-head dolls on the cover. Sadly if I returned it and reordered the new edition, it would not have arrived in time for my husband's birthday and Amazon would have charged me for their mistake.
