This is a good love story and I definitely recommend it. It is sad in a way but then it isn't. I was a good story and a good lesson in learning about autism. Just that, so don't get upset. At first, I thought he was a little off his rocker to think that he could waltz back into town after 10 years and believe that she would just fall all over him.
Men just don't get it. Here she has had a pregnancy as a teen, the whole town knows, her father is an ass, life was not easy. Then her little boy leaves her in the worse possible way to escape into his own little world. She deals with all of this on her own for 10 years. Then toward the end of the story I started to lose a lot of patience with her.
She cut him off at the knees every time he tried to help her. She put him in the same bag as her father and didn't give him a chance.
She tried to flaunt her friendship with Gary to make him mad and then got mad when he did get mad. She seemed to want everything both ways. I wanted to feel sorry for her but she wasn't willing to give him a chance and he was doing everything he knew to make up for what happened. Now, this being said, I still liked the story and recommend it. It was a very good read. This is the story about a young single mother who had to choose to let her child be adopted or to keep and raise. She keeps Luke and it is a challenge he has autism because of his medical bills and schooling she is in deep financial trouble.
The book deals with this and the journey of Glory and Jace getting together again, Jace struggles to be a father to a boy with autism and the need to become the man both Glory and Luke need. This is a clever and unique book with a splendid show of emotions and fear that these characters experience. This is a book I so recommend outstanding!! I guess Jace really had to grow on me from page one, I didn't like his attitude and he says all the wrong things, "to tell you the truth, I'm not sure. For me, Fortune is unfinished business. You are unfinished business.
People here know Erika. They remember you dated her. How do you think that makes me feel? Last time you took care of my needs, I got pregnant. Wait, come to think of it, my needs were never meet. I guess you took care of your own needs. This story is well written, it allows the readers to respect and admire parents raising a child with autism, especially a single mother. Jace who was raised by his mother, after his father ran away from his responsibilities vowed never to fall in love, married and have a family.
Glory who had huge crush on Jace when she was seventeen had a one night relationship with him, only to find out that she began pregnant. When she told Jace of the pregnancy, they both agreed to placed the baby for adoption. Due to Glory's dad accusing him for rape told him go to jail or leave town. Ten years later Jace returns to Fortune wanting answers regarding the baby.
Glory was very angry with Jace told him that she never gave his up for adoption, in fact shortly after his birth, Luke was diagnosed with autism. Now, you have read this book to find out the rest of the story. This was a beautiful story. Glory was raising her son on her own and was going to have to sell her family ranch to payoff school bills for her son Luke and his past medical expenses, some he was diagnosed with ASD.
He knew Glory was there but he didn't know she kept their baby.

He needs to show her he cares and will be there. A trouble teen is now back as the owner of the town. What changes would that bring for Glory, she wanted this one summer for Luke. Delightful story of family, dreams, and one special boy. It was okay, the pros- wrongs to be set right, father stepping up, teenage feelings still happening 10 years later. Con- Jace will become controlling, his words and actions go against what he feels, same from Glory. To many words are thrown around to cause pain until it made right at the end.
