We believe that reaching out to others makes a better world and encourage others to join us. Here's what we're supporting in Youth—Investing in the Future. Funding for support and mentoring to help low-income students gain access college and succeed. Support to provide a safety net of stable housing, guidance and community connections for young people 16 to 25, who are homeless or in danger of becoming homeless in Marin County.
Support for children from low-income urban neighborhoods to go on field trips and experience nature. An annual award to a graduating eighth-grader with a record of outstanding community service at Del Mar Middle School. Support for the Global Book Exchange in San Rafael, which collects lightly-used books and redistributes them to teachers at schools with limited budgets, disadvantaged families and nonprofits that serve children, as well as schools throughout the world. Support for volunteer medical teams to provide life-changing surgery for children with cleft-lip and palate in needy communities around the world.
Scholarships so high school sophomores and juniors can attend a special camp that guides them to develop their leadership skills. Annual awards to outstanding educators in local schools, whose unique projects give children a worldview that encourages them to become good citizens.
Meaningful Projects—Service Above Self. Support for a program that teaches immigrants to speak English. Support for programs that help seniors age in their own homes.
Members pay a small fee and can enjoy social get-togethers and access to volunteers for help with tasks such as getting to appointments, changing light bulbs or assisting with pets. For the past three years, we have contributed our funds to multi-club microcredit projects in Ecuador, Guatemala and Peru to train people in job and entrepreneurial skills and extend microloans to help them start small businesses and become self-sufficient. Jim exemplified Rotary's motto, Service Above Self, and his altruistic spirit was a model for everyone. He was devoted to his family, loved dogs and was one of the best.

Lending a Hand at St. The Rotary Club of Tiburon-Belvedere serves lunch on the fourth Thursday of every month and will begin its twelfth year of volunteering, under Mike Keran's leadership, in May. The Rotary Club of Tiburon-Belvedre hosted dinner for a group of 25 homeless men who were spending the night at St. Members of the Rotary crew above, l. The evening featured good conversation, great appetites and uplifting camaraderie, as well as good food. In her current position, she is in charge of administering the animal services contract for Marin County and all of its cities as well as supervising the activities of the animal services division. By contract, MHS provides animal control services in Belvedere, including responding to calls for service involving deer.
Stephanie received a Master of Science M. USHS has been involved in non-lethal deer management projects including the immuno-contraception project at Hastings-on-Hudson in New York and a deer sterilization project in Clifton, Ohio. Since then, she and her committee continue to monitor the health of the deer population and perform regular counts to track the size of the herd. Craig has spent just under half his career working in the field in both Region 1 and Region 2 in California, and just over half his career working in the Wildlife Branch as the Deer Program Supervisor and Game Program Manager.
He performs various wildlife management activities for CDFW including rare species and game species monitoring, managing other State-owned wetland properties such as Corte Madera Marsh and the on-going wetland restoration in the South Bay Salt Ponds. John earned a Bachelor of Science degree from U.
Davis in ecology and conservation. DFW implements wildlife management policies statewide and has ultimate responsibility for the deer in Belvedere. Before joining the district, Angie worked in the Bay Area as vector ecologist for the counties of San Mateo and Santa Clara In her year career in vector control, she has presented research on dog heartworm, West Nile virus, tick management, and forensic flies at statewide conferences, and given numerous educational talks to vector and pest control professionals, students, and community groups. Angie earned a B. Several residents have expressed concern about the roster of presenters for the Forum, suggesting the information they present will be biased in one direction or another.
I do not agree with that assessment, but I do understand that there are other experts and practitioners whose input could add value to the debate. The Forum is scheduled for two hours and in order to provide time for questions we needed to limit the number of presentations. If the Council wishes to hear from other sources, we can certainly arrange for them to come at another time.
In the meantime, residents are welcome to send any correspondence, written reports or other information they wish to the City Clerk and it will be made part of the public record. Please join us on Oct. The City Council will schedule a follow up discussion later in the year to hear from residents and decide how to address their concerns about the deer population in Belvedere.
