    • I know personally I have played several games that were very forgettable Diablo clones.

    There are also a select few that are obviously influenced by Diablo, but expand on the formula to make something greater than a simple knock off. Formerly having a working title of Umbra, Wolcen: One immediate difference that sets it apart is during the character creation. Currently the only choice I had was what to name him, with appearance customization and gender selection being added later.

    There is no class selection. Instead there are many different skill trees that are accessible during the leveling up process. There are warrior, rogue, and wizard skill trees but the player is not limited to choosing one predetermined model.

    The freedom is there to create a character patterned after a traditional class, or just to go nuts and create a polearm wielder who constantly shoots out lightning bolts and frost novas. That level if character customization is only the beginning of what makes your character in this game unique.

    This feature is potential to be one of the more intriguing aspects of the game, especially for multiplayer. I always found it interesting to see all the different variations in character design when I played online games. A lot of the games I played the appearance customization was mostly equipment based. Seeing these various nonhuman characteristics on display sounds interesting. This also gives incentive to create additional players and give them different approaches to combat.
